We got a puppy last week from Love at First Sight and are doing recon on the best dog training. He's a 8 week old golden/lab mix. I was looking at dogs and kat, which was known as central bark before? Any other recs?TIA.
Re: Dog training recs?
I do referrals for training alot, and I highly recommend Karen Montalvo with Bark Busters. She comes to you & can usually help you in just one session. They have a lifetime guarantee. They train you & the dog & is one-on-one. It is not really obedience training if you are looking for a typical group class. (I don't really recommend those.)

?If you talk to her, please tell her that I referred you!??
We adopted a lab puppy from Love at Fist Sight as well, she is 14 weeks old now (we've had her for about 8 weeks now). We started training with Kat at Dogs and Kat last Saturday. She came highly recommended by one of the vets at Murphy Road. We are in a 4 week class and the cost is $80. I have also taken our puppy to her puppy play class. I really like her and her methods. She is all about positive reinforcement. I love that she explains everything she is teaching you so you understand why you are doing it. She is really smart and very loving with all the dogs. There are 4 dogs in our class total. The great thing about it is that it gives them social interaction with other puppies, our pup was worn out after her class.
Anyway, we love Kat and so far so good on our training. After one session she has gotten so much better at not jumping and knows basic commands like sit, her name, come, down, etc. She seems so much more calm now too. Please feel free to email me if you have any other questions. I have some thoughts/opinions on the various docs we have seen at Murphy Road and some of the staff there. Also, if you have any interest in getting the puppies together for a play date, I would love that. We are in Sylvan Park. She will be fully vaccinated after tomorrow (now has everything but the last round of parvo) but I still worry about taking her to the small dog park. We went once and it was just okay.
