Flowers?

My coworker just got flowers from her husband. She didn't even want them. She even went so far as to say she doesn't like flowers. But, but, but her husband was so sweet! It's not even her birthday!

So, here're my questions:

Do you like flowers?

What are your favorite flowers to receive as a gift?

That is sweet... and she doesnt even sound appreciative - poor guy. 

I wish DH would get me flowers more often.  He occasionally brings them home from the grocery store (once every couple of months or if he knows he was an asss).  I dont think I've gotten flowers delivered since maybe our 2nd anniversary or so which was over 2 years ago. 

My favorite kind are tulips - they are so pretty and so friendly.  I also really love lillies because they are so fragrant but they also make a mess.  I'm not a huge fan of roses but I'm not really particular.

I LOVE flowers but my kitties eat them so I never get any  

I love chartreuse cymbidium or dendrobium orchids, peonies, stargazer lilies, tulips and black baccara roses.

I'll answer my own questions...

I love the thought of someone getting me flowrs, but I'm too practical for my own good. I think they're a HUGE waste of money! I only like them if they're inexpensive from a local stand or from the grocery store.

Flowers I love: tulips, daisies, peonies, orchids, roses, pretty much all flowers in the right colors.

Flowers I hate: lillies! I can't. stand. the. smell.

I LOVE flowers.  Dh knows this, but rarely gets them for me.  He says it's because he only ever had to get flowers for girls when he had done something wrong.  He tends to get them for me when I've been having a rough time, which I appreciate.  Though he did get me flowers for our last date night.

My favorites are lilacs, but I am really just a flower whore.  I love them all.  And they are very cheap at Trader Joes.  Four dollars gets you a bunch of irises or alstromeria (which I am allergic to, but don't care).  Five dollars gets you roses, lillies.

Unlike Chrissy, I love love love lilies. I love the smell!

Love them, but rarely get them. My dad gets them all the time for mum though, so maybe we're not totally hopeless.

I'm mildly obsessed with phalaenopsis orchids. But I also love quirky flowers like poppies, anthurium, ranunculus and lilacs.

I get roses every year on my birthday from my dad. It is sweet, but I do not like cut roses. At all.

I don't think I've ever met a flower I didn't like! What's not to like?

I love hydrangea especially because they look good dried too. My H always gets me tulips, but they don't last very long. I heart orange roses.

I do like getting flowers, but it is a rare occurance in our lives. Now that we are married and share $$, I also kind of think it's a waste of money. I pretty much like anything but red roses.

I'm struggling to remember the last time he gave me flowers.....

First that lady is crazy...I would love to get flowers from DH. I got them delivered once at work and occasionally he picks them up for me. I definitely got them more when we were dating. He brought me flowers on out first date, I knew he was a keeper. I still have them almost 7 years later.

I love all kinds too; roses, gerbra daisies, lilacs are my top 3.

I love getting flowers as well. M doesn't get them for me as much as I would like, but he does a pretty good job. My goal was to have fresh flowers weekly in the summer...it lasted for a couple of weeks. He usually will bring me flowers when they have the Farmers market at his work. Otherwise he picks me up flowering plants sometimes. I like pretty much every flower except carnations

I love the thought of flowers, but I also think it's a waste of money and I hate cleaning them up when they're dead. C used to send me flowers pretty often when I was in Montreal and he was in NY. Since I told him that I'm not over the top about them but really really love that he sends them and the thought and everything, he hasn't been getting flowers but gets other things to make the same gesture. Like sushi. Bringing me a sushi roll after a long day is better than anything.

I love flowers, but like others, don't get them often enough. Usually a couple times a year. I love pretty much everything but carnations, but my favorites are calla lilies and anemones. Two days ago I was barfing during the lunch hour (went home for lunch), DH felt incredibly sorry for me, and he brought home roses and arranged them beautifully in my favorite vase that night. The last time he had gotten me flowers was V-Day. It was sweet. Your co-worker is crazy.

I've told DH not to buy me flowers because like many others, I think they are a waste.  But if he went and bought them anyways, I don't think I would be mad about it.  I just prefer jewelry or shoes.  Date night is always good too.
