Cooking / cooking shows

I love cooking... I mean I get tired of the chore of cooking but I really enjoy making new foods and coming up with new tastes etc.  We did a CSA this summer and I was forced to learn all kinds of new techniques and how to cook stuff I'd never even heard of.

It is sometimes nice to dream about going to cooking classes or cooking school - but I'm a vegetarian and I don't have a desire to cook meat, so I think that option would be out for me.  I'm sure there are some specialty vegetarian classes somewhere, but I guess it's a dream anyway :)

BTW I love Top Chef.. hehe it puts Hell's Kitchen to SHAME!  On Top Chef I don't have a freaking clue half the time about what the foods are!  (Last night (like last night's Top Chef had some 'ballantine' dish.. no clue..!)

Re: Cooking / cooking shows

  • Nor sure how close you are to Canandaigua (outside of Rochester) but we have the NY Wine and Culinary Center.  They have lots of cooking classes (some are vegerarian) that look like a lot of fun.  Pricey but I think they really give you your moneys worth.

I went to see a lecture/cooking demo by Mollie Katzen there once a few years ago with my mom.  Was a lot of fun and a REALLY nice place.
