How do you like the droid?

Thinking about getting it...still on the ongoing debate between blackberry and iphone but don't really want to switch carriers just to get the iphone.

I have heard that apple may make an iphone for verizon as early as next year...so I was gonna wait..but then I saw the droid. Looks pretty neat!

I love it! I'm nesting from it right now! We actually had MH get his first cuz I don't like spending so much $ on phones so I wanted to see if it wad worth it first. I couldn't put it down for a week, so we upgraded my phone too. I personally think it's better than the iPhone b/c it's on the Android open source platform by Google so anyone can write apps for the phone (MH and I are both engineers). But even for non-engineers, there's tons of good free apps that other ppl or companies have made. I love the Amazon app (written by Amazon) where u can use ur phone to scan a barcode of any item u see in a store and it'll pull it up on Amazon with the price and reviews. And since the Droid is on the Google platform, everything syncs with ur Gmail and other Google apps, including maps with free GPS. And you can use Google voice to call non-Verizon phones and not use any airtime. We're really happy with the phone and I'd highly recommend it if ur considering it.

wow, based on your review, i think i might have to get it!  i've been debating tossing my blackberry for either the droid or whatever android phone comes out next - but i'm so fed up with my blackberry, i don't think i can wait any longer!  the droid sounds great...
