Re: wadsworth mansion

  • You should post this on the Knot CT board, too.  You might get a few responses there.  I didn't get married there, but it is a beautiful venue. GL!

  • Hi There! I just happened to stop by here today and saw your post. I am getting married at the Mansion this coming August. I agree that the layout is a bit awkward, but I think that the mansion and the grounds are beautiful not to mention the fact that it is somewhat of a unique venue with most people choosing the Branford House or Harkness Mansion instead. Personally I am planning on having about 100 people at my wedding which will allow for dining to happen in one of the two ball rooms. I plan to have the cermony and the dance floor outside if the weather is nice. Another thing that I like about the mansion is the idea that there are some great back opportunities for if the weather is bad. It would be easy enough for the ceremony to be moved inside to the other ballroom. I hope this is what you are looking for so far, let me know if there are any specifics that I can answer for you! HTH
  • My sister got married there in 2002. It was beautiful! They had their ceremony on the lawn, then cocktail hour and dancing under the tent. I didn't really notice any awkwardness of dining in both ballrooms, but I was only 19 at the time and not really paying attention. I just remember having a lot of fun! She had a school bus drive guests to and from the hotel - by the end of the night it was the "drunk bus" and we were all singing "Sweet Caroline." haha

I looked at it for my wedding but it was just way more than I wanted or could afford!! Plus I was too lazy to want to have to book caterers and all that stuff - I wanted it all included. ;)
