We seriously hit the baby jackpot today.

First, my mom called this afternoon and offered to buy us the lazboy rocker/recliner for the nursery.  Most of you are somewhat familiar with our not so great relationship so this was completely unexpected.  But we are very grateful.  And still a little shocked.

Then, we drove to Lafayette to pick up the crib from my aunt that she's letting us borrow.  Her twins are now 5 so she's got 2 of everything.  While we were there, she sent us home with:

a crib mattress
a convertible carseat
a booster seat
a diaper bag
a Medela breast pump (!)

And she's going to find her pack n play and one of her highchairs for us too!  To say I am excited right now is an understatement.

ETA:  I forgot to add that she also informed me that she would be throwing me a shower in January.    So now I have 2 showers scheduled!

awesome!  I'm sure you already know, but beware of used car seats.  Make sure it hasn't been in an accident, and they can't be older than 5 years.

it's so nice to get help with all that stuff, it gets so expensive!

woo hoo!  i am very excited for you! as for used car seats, there should be an expiration date etched into it.

Obviously I would never take a used car seat from someone I didn't know and trust.  Neither of these have been in accidents (I asked) and they are both less than 5 years old since her kids didn't start using them until they were over a year old.

I love baby showers, all the cute little itty bitty things.  ahhh....and it's even better once you get home and get to start putting the stuff away, makes it feel so real
