Good morning gals,
I just received some catalog wrapping paper that I ordered for a friend's daughter's school fundraiser. It's so pretty and i'm so excited.. but it also has me thinking, What the heck am I getting everyone for christmas??
I thought it would be fun if we could share with each other a great holiday gift that we've found/purchased. I feel so stumped, but i'm sure i'm not the only one.
Re: Let's share gift ideas!
I'll start.
Last year I fell in love with the Karriza dresses.. So I bought one for my mom, my sister, aunts and girl cousins. Everyone LOVED them and till this day .. I'm hooked on them!
Curious to see dress.... I can't view it (I see red X).
I started some shopping already, and will continue this weekend. I've found some amazing deals on purses! LOL Not sure yet who they are for, but great deal I had to buy. I got a Coach clutch (white) at the outlet for $35... I think that is for my sis' bday early Dec. Then I got some great CK snake skin clutches at Macy's for $23/ea (org $150/ea)! Depending on who I get in my secret santa for the family, I'll gift one, and keep the other.
At Marshalls a few wks ago, I got some adorable door handle decorations for only $3! It also came with adorable packaging too. I got like 5 of them for coworkers.
A couple of yrs ago, I got DH cigar of the month subscription, and he enjoyed it. I may give him that again this yr. It was throgh Cigar Dave (AM Radio talk show on Sat - during the show, he discusses the cigars of the month... cool show).
MIL may get a foot massage machine. DH's siblings and us are not exchanging gifts... we are going to go to a nice event together and spend QT. Now, we just need to decide on a show/concert!
The grandmas always love nice/fancy scented soaps, which I always get at Marshalls/TJMaxx... along with a nice plant (usually orchid).

Ugh, I don't know!! I'm so bad at gift ideas. We're not exchanging gifts on either side of our extended families, but I think we'll send each gathering (DH's side, my mom's side, my dad's side) a gift basket of oranges since they'll all be together and we'll be here.
DH wants to exchange gifts this year, but I'm perfectly happy doing the whole "let's buy something for the house and call it our joint Christmas gift." I can't convince him of that, though, because I think he already has something up his sleeve. I'm thinking of buying him a new watch because I know he's had his eye on a couple. Other than that, I'm at a loss. I need help.
I'll be making homemade gifts. Depending on who it's for I'll either be giving cookies or bottle pair of homemade eggnog/homemade lemoncello.
Money's tight now, so figured this would be the best route for us right now.

I have to think of something creative for DH. I think I am going to replace his headphones with new ones. He mentioned that his headphones needed to be replaced, but they are custom made so I would need to get new ones custom made. We'll see how that idea goes!
I also am getting him taco holders. He always complains that we don't have any lol. Other than that, he loves watches, shoes, and any type of music instrument (even cheapy toy stuff).
For our parents, we are giving them each a wedding album that I am going to make on iphoto or something. We will also be giving them prints for the house.
For our nieces and nephews, we are giving them each a $10 giftcard for itunes (enough to buy an entire album) - we have 10 nieces and nephews, so it adds up if we get them all gifts and we are trying to save.
For our gift exchange people, not sure yet, we haven't picked names. But we don't do lists so it's usually creative and fun.
DH and I agreed to exchange gifts this year, since we usually never do - we always just put the money we would have spent towards a trip or something. Plus, my birthday is two weeks before Christmas so it's a double whammy for him. Buuuttt, since we decided we want to switch cell phone companies anyhow, we're getting each other iphones
We are getting ILs gift cards to Pier One. They are SO hard to shop for since they have pretty much everything. I'll probably buy my mom perfume clothes for my dad - he never buys any for himself. Our brothers will get AMEX gift cards and video games.
I'll buy earring/necklace sets for my grandmothers. For the extended family, we're only getting gifts for the kids and for my niece. We are also only buying gifts for our very close friends, which ends up being about five or six more gifts.
I'll probably also make cookie tins for my close coworkers and for the rest of the extended family.
