Any ideas? My cousin is having a baby shower next Saturday and her mom is looking for game ideas.....I told her I had a great resource to ask!
Re: Baby Shower Games
I know some people think party games are cheesy, but I actually really like them! My favorites are:
The classic; either individually or in small groups, cut a piece of string or ribbon to guess how round the mom-to-be's belly is. The closest groiup wins a prize. Some PG ladies might be uncomfortable with this, though, so I would check with the guest-of-honor first.
I also like the name-guessing game. The expecting couple (ahead of time) makes a list of both girls and boys names that they like for each letter of the alphabet, A-Z (just make a form with a girl column and a boy column). Then, everyone at the party fills out their own form with their guesses for the names they like the best for each letter. Then, read the expecting couple's list and you get one point for each correct guess.
Word unscramble or words related to baby or pregnancy. The person who gets the most correct is the alloted time wins.
My favorite one is ---- get small clips from office depot or something. Hand five to each guest. Identify words that can't be said (eg baby, mom or dad). If a person says the forbidden word the person who hears them say it first can take one of their clips. The person with the most clips at the end of the party wins. Its grat game to get people to mingle.
I think this one is disgusting but I'll throw it out there....what in the baby diaper game. Cut small pieces of white cloth and and shape into a baby diaper, put a different color diaper pin on each, smoosh different chocolate candy (kit-kat, resee pb cups, snickers, etc) in each and everyone has to guess what kind of candy is in each.
I thought this game was fun!! haha. except they used real diapers to make it easier and just numbered the front of the diapers to make it easier.

LOVE this game! It's so disgusting but sooo hysterically funny! I've even been to some baby showers where they go so far as to microwave the smooshed candy in the diapers (usually real newborn diapers like mrs.presley)!
Another thing you could do with clothespins is to give all the guests 1 clothespin (or 5) and the rule is that you can't cross your legs (just like how most pregnant women can't). If you catch someone crossing their legs, you can take one of their clothespins (or all - including ones that they've accumulated from others). The person with the most at the end of the party is the winner.
The other ladies have given good suggestions, so I'll just mention one that I do not think is a good idea, lol (well, this and the belly-measuring game, which I know that I personally would hate).
My SIL did this game at her shower - it's a water breaking game. You fill up a bunch of water balloons, then give one to each guest. They all then have to race up and down the yard, holding the balloon between their thighs, and the one whose "water breaks" the last (i.e., whose balloon lasts longest) wins. I tried to talk her out of it but couldn't, and it was AWFUL. Very, very few guests like to get their pants/socks/shoes/etc all wet and then have to sit around in them or drive home like that. So I'd definitely give that one a miss lol.
