My DH is in the AF and we just found out we're moving to Abilene, from Germany. I'm from Texas, but not that area, so I know VERY little about it. Can anyone help me out with the best areas to live, schools, etc? Thanks a ton!!

Thanks! My son is 2.5 now, but will be in Kindergarten while we're there.
Hey there-We just moved from Abilene in March, to Japan. My hubby is AF as well. What does your DH do? Are you guys at Ramstein now? We are in Yokota. Anyway, my DH and I are both from TX, although not Abilene. He was stationed there before we got married, and owned a house in the Wylie area. Abilene has Abilene ISD, and a very small district on the south side of town (I think it is the south), called Wylie. It has a much better reputation than Abilene ISD does, although I subbed in Abilene and found it to be just fine I thought. Our old house was just down the street from Wylie HS. From the short time I was there, I thought the south side of town seemed to be a bit more on the up and up side, and the north side of town was a bit sketchy, but of course there are good and bad parts to each. Do you guys have a realtor? I have the name of a good one who helped us sell our house if you need it. Hope that info helped a little bit. You can email me if you have more questions and I'll try and help you out. kimcochran08 at yahoo.com
