Nursery bedding

Wow, it is SOOOO expensive! I just looked at BRU, but can anyone suggest a place that is less pricey?

Re: Nursery bedding

  • Target, Wal-Mart, JC Penny's, Marshalls/TJMaxx, Sears and these places when there is a good sale or have coupon, Macy's and Lord n' Taylor???
  • You could always buy separate pieces.  I know a lot of people don't use the bumpers...we did, but if you're not planning to use one you won't need that.  And, at 19 months, we've yet to use the comforter that came with ours, so you may not need that either.  We might when we convert the bed to a toddler bed, but by then, we'll likely get new bedding anyway.
  • A lot of my mom friends have mentioned wishing they waited to get a bedding set. They said they don't use the bumper and won't be using the comforter for a few years. I just got fitted sheets and a breathable bumper from BRU. It was a fraction of the price of a bedding set.

  • It is one of those things that looks cute but totally isn't necessary.  I always had just a breathable bumper, crib sheets, and the dust ruffle.  You can't use a blanket for a while and I got so many blankets (including 2 very nice quilts), so I never needed the set.  They are totally expensive!

This is what we are planning on doing.  And we will have some swaddle-mes and blankets.

  • i have a $69 dust ruffle and sheet b/c we dont use the bumper or blanket. i have a breathable bumper.  you really don't need the set.  i found mine at marshalls.
  • i would do mix and match. IMHO, i think it looks better than all matchy-matchy. This way, you can look for less expensive items too. Jan is "switchover" time at PBK, so tons will be on clearance, you can check there! We got all of our bedding for about $75 and you have seen it.
  • I agree with Ladyred- I like a mix and match rather than matchy...

our quilt/blanket was made and I just bought some sheets- I didnt buy a dust ruffle or bumper...
