You know its bad when even Lou picks us to lose.
One of my best friend's dad is a huge ND fan, and he's been talking about how Charlie Weis needs to be fired. It seems to be the topic of conversation amongst the sports nation, too...sigh.
oh a TON of ND fans want him fired.
I know the development office has stopped answering their phones. They let it all go to answering machines because they are getting non stop calls from angry doners.
oh the 10 year was stupid. Especially after we had just made a similar mistake with Ty. Apparently we are slow learners.
Good news is that money really isn't an issue for them.
Well, you'll have to buy out Charlie's contract (18 Mil), plus his assistants (add another 3 Mil or so), and then sign a high-caliber head coach and his assistants, which would probably cost another 20 Mil, give or take a few. So you're looking at 40+ Mil overall. Good thing the school has money.
Fortunately, I'm very happy with my alma mater's head coach. We have quite a bit of money at our school too to keep him happy. Go Gators.
The net profit for the athletic department last year was 180 million. So yes it will suck, but I also think there are a LOT of donors that will chip in. I wasn't saying that as a bragging thing (I know UF has a ton of money in athletics as well) I was just saying that I dont' think they will be considering that in making the decision.
Plus, no one knows what Charlie's contract is. Its all speculation. It could be more or less. They've kept that in the dark.
18 Mil is the number that all the sports reporters are estimating, so yeah, I estimated based on their info.
