What a difference a year makes

Tuesday will be 1 year since my d&c.  DH's b-day is tomorrow so last year kind of tarnished it for him.  He just associates his b-day with our loss.  The holidays & our b-days (mine is Dec. 13th) were somber last year.

I was talking to my MIL about how different our lives are now.  We have a beautiful home and land right next door to my ILs, I have a job that I love, my sister and niece are moving back home from VA, and we have a baby on the way.  There is so much to be thankful for this year and talking to her was a nice reminder of that.

And now I'm crying.

  • For me it was the same a few weeks ago.  I found out on Halloween that I had m/c at 13 weeks, and I had my D&C on Nov 2, which was also my mom's bday.  It has been a rollercoaster but I am greatful for everything I do have.  I'm so happy you have a baby on the way :)
  • Aww. I am SO glad this year has brought many good things to you. And soon your little one will be here! This post makes me teary eyed as well..

  • I'm so glad things are looking up for you!  I totally agree - a year can make such a difference.  Last year, we were miserable for the holidays, with DH unemployed and me only working part time.  Now we're in a new state, with new jobs and new adventures...  it's hard being away from family, but we have so much to be thankful for this year.
