Brand new to the area, looking for a yummy T-giving dinner

Hi everyone!

My name is Brooke. I am a newlywed (10.10.09) who was just recently relocated to S. Carolina from San Antonio with my husband's job. We just arrived a few days ago and will living in Mt Pleasant for the next 10 to 12 months.

We are having all of our things shipped to us including furniture and kitchen equipment, so cooking anything for Thanksgiving is pretty much out of the question... I am doing my best to stay upbeat but I am sad to be spending our first Thanksgiving away from family and our home.  I am looking for suggestions on where my hubby and I can go for a yummy Thanksgiving dinner with all of the traditional foods. If you have any ideas, please let me know!

Thanks! :)

  • Welcome to the area, and sorry about being away from home for the holiday!

I really don't know of anywhere specifically that is doing Thanksgiving (other than Whole Foods).  I would suggest calling places downtown to see who is open and whatnot.

  • Down town is probably your best bet.  I know the Mills House Hotel does Thanksgiving dinner.

    Welcome to the area!

  • Welcome to the area.

I'm sorry to say I don't know anywhere to assist you with a nice Thanksgiving meal.

  • Hi There! Welcome to the area, and Congratulations!

I know that The Marriott Hotel  downtown, has a rooftop bar called the Aqua Terrace, and they where going to be serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner from 11:30 - 2:30 (possibly a little latter). My friend used to work there in the restaurant, and she said you can call the hotel at 843 - 723 - 3000, to find out more information on cost and exact times or possibly make a reservation.  I know it stinks being away from family but hopefully you'll be able to find somewhere great for Thanksgiving.

  • Hi!

We recently relocated ourselves (September) to Mt Pleasant and this will be the first time not celebrating with my family or our family too.

I just read in the paper that the resort out on Kiawah is having a buffet dinner, seating at 1 and 3pm I think..Kiawah is really pretty and it would be a nice way to spend the day..we may be doing this since our plans just got cancelled. I hate cooking LOL.
