Hi ladies!
DH & I are planning a Disneyland trip for February. I know several of you are Disney fanatics, and go pretty often. Just wondering if anyone had specific recommendations of where to stay. We're pretty open to anything at this point. I'm just trying to price things out.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Disneyland hotel rec
I lived in Anaheim for 23 years and the Hotel I would recommend is Anabella. If you dont stay there I would recommend staying somewhere on Harbor Blvd. and stay off Katella Ave. Anabella is on Katella but far away from the scummy motels...lol

We're going in February too
We're staying at the Grand Californian Villas (we're DVC). I know that right now Disney is offering some good deals if you travel between 1/10/10 and 2/11/10, I know the Pardise Pier is starting at $139 per night (I haven't stayed there in a while, but we're staying there when we go in mid-december for our Christmas trip)
My recommendation is to either stay ON property, or stay a bit away.
What are you looking for in a hotel? Just a place to sleep or some place to relax and lounge?
I'm sure she'll chime in but Sharon is staying at the Double Tree Guest Suites when we go in Feb, it seems like a nice hotel. I also recently stayed at the Marriott (full service) and it was a very nice experience.
I guess tell us more what you're looking for and we'll chime on in!
We always book through Priceline, where you can name your own price. We never spend any time at the hotel-- maybe one break during the day, then sleeping there at night, so we hate to spend $100+ for a room we hardly use. I always select a 3 star hotel and we haven't had a bad experience yet.
We stayed at the Peacock Suites last Christmas, and I know they are running a special promotion this coming weekend-- rates from $68 I believe. The rooms are all 2-room suites and they're really nice!
Thanks for the recs!
We're not wanting to spend a ton, and figure that we won't be in our room much at all. I found a great deal at the Anaheim Marriott, which is part of or by (?) the convention center. Judging by photos & reviews on TripAdvisor, it looks pretty decent. We'll probably book that, but I'll definitely keep your suggestions in mind!
I've stayed at the Anaheim Marriott. It's really nice! It has the shuttle service to the parks, which is perfect. It's kind of a pain at night when everyone is leaving the parks at the same time. The shuttles fill up, and you can wait a bit for one. We have hopped in a taxi a few times, being tired and not wanting to wait for the shuttles.
However, parking prices at the park have gotten ridiculous. So unless you have an annual passport and can park for free, staying on property or staying at one of the hotels with a shuttle is your best bet.
Lately, I've been going quite a bit with my mom. Her only criteria for a hotel is that it have a Starbucks in the lobby. ;-) The Marriott does have one, btw, in case that helps.
