My company is holding a convention in San Diego in a couple of months, and I've been given the task of finding ideas for "San Diego themed" gifts for some of our board members and prominent speakers. It has to be something fairly small and light as they have to be able to easily be taken home, and the budget is $50 per person. I'll need like, 20 of them. We prefer it to be something that reflects the area, and is of "executive" quality. I've tried googling, and will continue that, but I've never been to San Diego (or anywhere out west, really, haha!) so I'm not sure if there might be something it's really famous for (besides the zoo).
I can't wait to come see your beautiful city, I hear it's incredible! I just hope that I have enough time to take a couple hours and check some things out beyond our convention location, haha!
TIA!!
Re: Atlanta nestie needs some help!
You could get something from the San Diego Maritime Museum, they have a shop:

HTH!
We've got a ton of "optional activities" that we're offering, but wanted to do something outside of those for a few exclusive people. I've found a few websites that do San Diego themed gift baskets, and like that idea, though I worry that something like that won't be easily carried on a plane these days. I've kept searching and found a few cool non-SD related things, so I may have to go that route. I'd love to do something uniquely San Diego though. I'll keep googling and see if I can find anything.
Thanks!
Well, I'd fish tacos are probably not a good idea then. Think beachy, sand castles, ocean, water, sun, Mexican culture related items....
a nice beach towel with company logo & San Diego written on it
Wind breaker jacket
golf balls
nautical items
engraved hour glass (it has sand in it)
engraved pilsner glasses (for our local brewery connection)
several wineries in North County area-- custom labeled wine bottles with a wine gift basket, or a certificate since they can't carry on bottles
Nice hat (Greg Norman type)
A nice picture frame "San Diego themed"-- glass, waved shaped perhaps?
I really appreciate y'alls help! We decided to go with a ship in a bottle, of the Star of India, from the Maritime Museum. I'm waiting to hear back for sure that they can order the quantity I need, in the size I want, but they sounded fairly confident that they could get it for me.
Thanks again! I'm not sure if I'll be attending the convention or not, but if I do, I'm DEFINATELY looking forward to seeing your beautiful city. My husband has been there before and absolutely fell in love.
