How was your weekend?

Re: How was your weekend?

  • I'm still trying to wake up this morning so let's see if I remember what I did this weekend.

Friday - I worked and then I'm certain I fell asleep on the couch next to K.

Saturday - I went with a friend to see New Moon while K slept in.  Then I took advantage of a 50%+ off sale at Kohl's and got a few long sleeve maternity tops.  K and I ran errands including shopping for Thanksgiving.

Sunday - We picked up our glider for the nursery! I really want to open the box but since the nursery doesn't have room for it yet it'll stay in the box a bit longer.

  • Friday I think we just did dinner at home and watched more My So Called Life on DVD.

Saturday we met a friend for breakfast. I spent most of the day roasting pumpkins and doing laundry.  DW went to a women's expo with a friend and made a yummy dessert for our dinner at our friends' house.  We had a yummy dinner at our friends' including some kid time with their daughter:)

Sunday was a pumpkin pie making marathon.  In the evening we finished the marathon and packing up the remainder of the 41 (!) pints of roasted pumpkin, got a pizza out and got my bike back from a friend who did a bunch of work on it.  Then we chilled with more MSCL.

  • My weekend turned out nothing like planned. Unfortunately the tickle in my throat friday morning turned into a full blown chest/head cold by friday evening.  So we stayed in, Andrea pampered me a bit, and i went to bed early hoping to be feeling better for Saturday.

No such luck. I woke up Sat feeling like I had been hit by a truck. So, Andrea spent the day helping her grandmother move while i was quarentined at home.

Sunday I was feeling slightly better so we did some thanksgiving shopping and went out to dinner with friends but aside from that i was mostly sleeping, drinking tea, and de-germing the house.

Today I'm working from home and feeling mostly better except for a terrible aching back, and annoying cough. I have SO MUCH work to get done for thanksgiving and its stressing me out but I dont want to start cooking/prepping until i'm feeling better.  and we just found out we're closing our re-fi tomorrow evening. which is great, but cuts into my prep time even further.  I may be winging it this year!

  • Our weekend was fun and busy.

Friday night was the rehearsal dinner for our friends' wedding.  Got home late and crashed.

Saturday was the wedding.  We got haircuts in the AM, grabbed lunch and headed to the hotel.  Wedding prep all afternoon, wedding all night.  Everything went smoothly and we had a great time, but holy cow was I exhausted by the end!!

Sunday we had to go grocery shopping, and I spent the rest of the day recovering.  I was so wiped out from the wedding, so we just took it easy.  Very glad this is a short work week!

  • Friday - We took the kids out for ice cream after dinner. I got my first peppermint chocolate chip milkshake of the season from Chic-fil-a. YUM.

Saturday - Carter was up at 5. Sigh. L stayed home to work on school stuff while I took the kids to a Thanksgiving parade. It was chilly - but the kids had a great time. We met a couple of dads and their 3 year olds from Rainbow Families for lunch. Kids were asleep almost as soon I we got in the car, so I drove around for awhile to let them nap. Playground time and then dinner at Cracker Barrel and a drive through a holiday light show (the ones where you drive through.)

Sunday - Carter was up at 5 again. Sigh. We went for bagels, the grocery store, and Costco. L and the kids put up some holiday decorations outside and then the kids played "Santa Where Are You?" (which entailed them running around the yard looking for Santa and yelling for him to "come out come out wherever you are!" LOL. Everyone got a too short nap. I took them to the playground while L made turkey chili. The kids helped make the cranberry chutney for Thanksgiving. They watched The Incredibles and were in bed by 7:30. L and I didn't feel well and were out by 9.

Carter was up again at 5 this morning - what is going on with him??!??! Started getting kids up and ready for school and realized that Gray has a fever - so he and I are home today. He is still asleep and his fever went up again. I am still sitting in bed watching daytime in my pjs. Yes

  • We spent most of the weekend redoing all of the closets. We have a huge pile of things to donate and the girls clothes are much easier to get to now. Not exciting but made me feel so much better. I like order.

We picked up the remaining groceries for turkey day and I pared down my menu. We did a lot of lounging around since we have been under a lot of stress the last few weeks

  • Friday night we went to dinner at some friends house that we hadn't seen since our wedding. It was nice to catch up.

Saturday we went back to the dentist on an emergency trip for me. The infection in my jaw is getting worse. If I am not better by tomorrow then I have to go to an oral surgeon. Not fun. After that Carol went to work and I went and crashed at her moms house so I would have some help with Annie since I was in so much pain.

Sunday we went to the H1N1 shot clinic for Carol. I couldn't get the shot because I am not considered high risk. We chose not to get the shot for Annie because they can't guarntee that the second shot will be avaiable so it seemed pointless.

Then Sunday night I went to work.
