KitchenAid RAVE

Since this board is slow as crap lately...I'll litter it with two posts in a row.

I made pumpkin bread recently and ever since the mixer attachment on my KitchenAid Artisan Mixer has been stuck on there.  I've tried everything...jiggling it, turning it on then off, etc.  It felt mechanical, whatever it was causing the issue. 

I called KA customer service to see if they had a resolution.  They had me try spraying cooking spray onto the shaft where the attachment is, followed by heating a warm cloth in the microwave and holding that over it while trying to disengage it.  No luck.

They asked me how close I was to Mobile, AL.  Six hours.  She scratched that idea and promptly told me that since my mixer was still under warranty, they'd be sending me a new one via FedEx in 7-10 days and to put my current one in the box the new one is delivered in (and they'll include a pre-paid address label so I can send the defective one back).  So easy!

I was super impressed, since I had a feeling they'd make me send in the one I have to get fixed and I'd be without it for a month or more.

  • Awesome - I'm glad nothing has gone wrong with mine but its nice to know that they have such good customer service.

    I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends - I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late, and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that's when it is nice to let them know that you can beat them up.

  • This seems to be the way they do business. The hubby bought a kitchenaid in college (I know, what college student does that?) and found out that it was adjusted wrong which made the mixer scrap the bottom of the bowl. They had him drop a dime in the bowl to hear the noise and then promptly said they would be putting a new one in the mail the next day. I'm beyond impressed with customer service that good.
  • That is really good to know. People really gravitate towards businesses with amazing customer service I have found (zappos, nordstrom etc..) My Monday confession was going to be that I still haven't taken mine out of the box yet :(

    But in my defense, we will most likely be moving in January and I want all the parts to be in one place so it doesn't get ruined.?

    Indifferent You are missing out!  I use mine at least a couple times a week - best appliance ever.

  • Hmmm, now I feel left out. Someone should boot my hubby in the behind because he thinks they are a waste of money! I bake all the time and have been wanting one forever!
