Thanksgiving Dinner: HELP!

I need help with games! :) Please help me!!

I decided that I want to make this Tgiving dinner a fun event, complete with games/prizes! (Odd, I know LOL!)

I want to do 4 games for the adults (I have 4 small prizes) and our family kinda likes games, so I think it will be great fun! We are hosting Tgiving dinner for the 1st time in our new home this year, as a family:)

There will be 4 kiddos present and each kid will get a goodie bag complete with turkey hat and some small toys (I wrapped them all today and everything turned out cuuuuute!), so obviously they don't have to compete for a prize... only the adults.

Last week, someone recommended musical chairs to the Turkey song, which is a cute idea, but my Gma is 99 y.o. and DHs gma is 89 y.o. so they won't be able to participate in physical games.

What about some Tgiving trivia questions? Anyone have any ideas for trivia?

Sticker on a plate? (IMO kinda boring)

Any ideas from you guys? I really appreciate it!!! Thank you sooo much!!!

Re: Thanksgiving Dinner: HELP!

  • These are twists on some games we played at my bachelorette party.

    1) The blind taste test - pass around little dixie cups filled with a Thanksgiving food (mashed potatoes, turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, apple pie filling) and guests have to figure out what they are by taste without looking. To add some fun and a challenge, don't give every guest the same food at the same time. That way when grandma is talking about how sweet hers is, Uncle Tom will be compeltely thrown by the turkey flavor he's tasting.

    2) Missing ingredient.  Type up recipes from the food your making and leave out a common ingredient (like cinnamon for pumpkin pie).  Have the guests try to figure out what ingredient is missing.

    And some others:
The harvest tree - instead of pin the tail on the donkey, have guests pin some fruit on a tree.

    Trivia type games:

    - how many of the 13 original colonies can you name?

    - Match the Native American tribe with the state they resided in.

    - Match the harvest - what produce is harvested at what time of year?

  • You could always try a "turkey version" of some of the classic baby shower games.....Thanksgiving game word jumble, or not being able to say certain words.  At baby showers, it's usually the word baby and each person has a clothes pin.  If you say the word you get your pin taken.  The person with the most pins wins.  I don't know what word you would use since most people want to say thanks on thanksgiving, but it could work, especially with the elderly grandparents.  Hope it all goes well for you:)
