My mother just invited 4 more people to our Thanksgiving dinner which would have been OK before I bought the turkey but she just told me this today. I'm really kind of upset with her because now I have to buy more food and find another table to sit these people.
I bought a 22.5 lb turkey do you think that is enough for 10 people and possibly leftovers for the next day? The only reason I bring up leftovers is because H loves, loves, loves them and would be a little upset if he didn't get any.
Am I being stupid about this or would you be a little upset?

Re: Turkey Help
That sounds like a lot more than necessary.
I believe one pound of turkey per person should be enough for seconds and leftovers.
Yup, I agree with Weemz, you only need a pound per person...and that's overestimating. You can feed at least 25 people with that turkey!
You'll be fine, and remember - people like to load up on the sides, too. Stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, mac & cheese - all that adds up on your plate. Sometimes people will just eat a little bit of turkey.
