Almost Turkey Day...Who's Excited?

I'm taking a four and a half day weekend, so my vacation starts tomorrow afternoon, and I am sooo excited. I think a relaxing weekend and a big pile of comfort food is exactly what I need after a stressful couple of weeks.

Anyone else starting to feel excited? Big Smile

Re: Almost Turkey Day...Who's Excited?

  • I'm excited for some odd reason!  I usually get stressed around the holidays but not this year apparently.  I am actually looking forward to cooking.  I'm also looking forward to hitting Toys R Us at midnight!  Big Smile

  • I am very excited. I get to see my hubby and Maddox gets to see his daddy! We are flying out Thanksgiving day. It's gonna be cold in Mi this weekend.

And of course my biggest excitment is for my favorite day of the year.....Black Friday!!! There is actually nothing I am really after. Since I will be away, I can't really buy much anyway....but I will leave some extra room in my suitcase;-) I enjoy the Gymboree sale but I can do that online!

  • I am super excited. We are hosting Thanksgiving at our house this year and we've got all the decorations out :) Then after dinner we are hitting the Auto show which we do every year and heading to bed early so we can be at Best Buy at 1am! Black Friday is my favorite shopping day!
  • My weekend starts tomorrow! Yea! I'll need to day to start getting my casseroles ready. I am hosting Thanksgiving for the first time ever and the ILs are coming down from ATL to join us :)

I don't know that we will do anything on Black Friday other then decorate for Christmas.

  • Wow, y'all are brave, going out in the Black Friday crazyness.

My husband worked retail for years, so I'm pretty sure there's nothing in this universe that would be enough to get him to the mall on Black Friday.

I bet I'll do some online shopping this weekend, though. At the very least I need to get my Christmas cards ordered.

  • I wanted to say "good luck" to all you ladies who are hosting Thanksgiving dinner. I know how much work that is...especially when you are feeding alot of people. It is a long day of standing around in the kitchen preparing everything....ugh!
  • I'm getting excited too!  My holiday starts tomorrow and I am so ready.

DH and my dad are off all week and working on installing new tile and wood flooring in our house so we are definitely not hosting Thanksgiving this year!  Our house is a disaster right now...in fact, I'm pretty sure one of our toliets is in our yard right now while the tile is put down, lol.  Classy.  I've never hosted Thanksgiving before and am actually quite nervous to do so one day!  I love cooking but the idea is very intimidating to me.  I'll bake a few pies in my mom's kitchen and that will be my contribution.  Good luck to you ladies and enjoy!

Believe it or not, I have never been shopping early on Black Friday and I won't be this year either.  I think we'll still be dealing with floor-related drama and I plan to get started on my Christmas cards which came in the mail today.  I ordered such cute ones from Snow & Graham this year that I'm overly excited to send them out.

BTW, Diane...I love your pet siggy picture!  That's adorable.  We are rescue pet twins, I have 2 cats and 2 dogs from various shelters too :)

  • I'm not too excited about Thanksgiving this year.. as always we're going to Crestview (Ft. Walton Beach) to Ian's sisters house. Ian's mom has been in hospice for about 6 months now and this week his sister told me that she doesnt remember anyone anymore. So, Ian and I are planning on going to see her Thursday and I know its going to be a really hard visit for him. Hopefully, she will be able to talk and remember him for what im thinking will prob be his last visit with her :(

  • I am SO EXCITED! I love the holiday season and I can't wait to get started. I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the first time this year too.

Aww thanks! We just adopted our newest, Dixie, about a month ago, and it's nice having an even four, so everyone has a playmate. :)
