What's for Dinner Y'all?!
I have chicken laying out to defrost. I can make chicken pepporoni or chicken quesadillas or chicken parma.
What's everyone else up to?
Re: What's for Dinner Y'all?!
Porkchops on the grill slathered with Pappies Sauce for Sissies (bought in TN on our honeymoon- yum!) some sort of potato dish (still deciding) and salad.
We love to grill, so we don't use the stove much. I am also baking some chocolate cheesecake bars for dessert. I am making myself drool as I type! Yum!
My hubby loves to grill to but with all the rain, we haven't had much of a chance too! It's rained every evening once we get home and it stinks!
Can I have your chocolate cheesecake bar receipe? Those sound yum!
You should try the potatos that the post underneath us posted - those sound YUM!
I was thinking of chicken parm tonite...but what is your pepperoni recipe? Maybe I will try that instead.
Will def be trying those smashed potatoes too, sounds yum.
Last nite was "use leftover nite" and I shredded some rotisserie chicken and heated it up on the stove w/ bbq sauce. Easy and good, w/ some green beans and tater tots.
I must start making dessert more. I never think to make it when I am home and it's just me and C eating, but why not? Cheesecake chocolate bars sounds to die for!
We're making homemade tomato soup, and grilled cheese sandwiches. I'm looking forward to having lots of veggies.
I am making blackened chicken ceasar salads.
Our local Publix has skinless boneless chicken breasts for $2.49/lb, I need to stock up!
We keep our grill on our screened porch, so we can grill no matter the weather! We are lucky to have our porch, though it is not much bigger than a postage stamp!
I may just do those potatoes! They do sound yummy! I would have to add cheese though, as DH won't eat potatoes without cheese!!!
The dessert recipe is one I cannot share, as it is a family secret. I only got it by marrying in-seriously!!! so sorry ladies! (please don't be mad as DH scans the boards on occasion and would kill me!) I have an awesome recipe for blueberry sour cream cake that everyone loves when I make it- I will share that one if you like!
Love tomato soup and grilled cheese! Never made it homemade though - sounds gourmet.
Aw that's cool to have a sacred recipe like that! WE don't have any cool family recipes that are top secret....
Sounds so CIAish...lol
Brian has become the chef in our house lately, so I'm eatin whatever he's cookin! Although I think tonight is grocery night, so it might be KFC for us tonight.
We use the grill a lot too. It's a lot less mess!
It has been passed down I think now 4 generations on DH's mom's side. I love his family, as there are many traditions. My side is not the same. Not much has been passed down.
We also were given bedroom furniture (of our choice) from his parents, as that is also something that has been passed down as a wedding gift a few generations now. It feels good to be a part of such history!
I think I'm doing a Torilla Espanola

Shehasfaith- That's really cool! We don't have any traditions like that! Maybe Manny and I should start our own!!
We're having parmesan crusted chicken from Jacki05 food blog and broccoli casserole. Which I may replace with the potato recipe!
Star, those are great!!! There was this place in Miami that made them and they were soooo awesome!!! I've seen some variations that add sausage and/or red peppers and they were ok. But I like this way better.
My Mom used to make something like this but with plantains (maduros) instead of potato...YUM!!
SRCain,
The soup isn't too hard. I use this recipe.

Mmmm, that chicken recipe is so good!! Make some extra and have it on a salad the next day!
is that different from Taco Soup? recipe please?
Oh yeah, we're having French Dip sandwiches in the crock pot: http://tinyurl.com/5sljw9
Sorry my reply took so long!
You take chicken breasts and cut them in half. Bread them with Italian Bread Crumbs and "fry" them in a pan but not really. Just enough oil to cook the chicken and the breadcrumbs. Put them into a baking dish.
Cover the chicken with pasta sause (any kind you like) that you have cut up slices of pepporoni into. Bake it for about 30 minutes.
We serve it with grill asparagus usually - YUM - and a starch. You can use pasta if you want but it's not totally necessary.
Hope that helps
