Good morning!

Happy Tuesday!  Are you all almost ready for Thanksgiving?  Its weird having a non-traditional work schedule around the holidays.  I had Thanksgiving with my family on Sunday because I will be working the holiday and the weekend.  So while everyone is getting excited for their work week to be over, mine will be just beginning!  Anyways, it was a delicious Thanksgiving dinner with my parents, my grandma, my sister and her husband, and of course my husband.  I couldn't have asked for anything better!

On another note, when are you all putting up your Christmas trees?  Do you get a real one or use a fake tree?  Do you decorate the outside of your house?

Re: Good morning!

  • Gmorning! Nothing very exciting going on today. Going to target and the grocery store for something I got a rain check on.

We will put up our tree this weekend. It's fake. We have a cat and dog and don't need either of them to be drinking all the water. and I've heard you should put sugar in the water to keep the tree better and that's not very good for animals to drink I assume. Plus with a real tree I'm soo worried about it catching on fire! I love the smell though but it just doesn't work for us. And all the pine needles everywhere would drive me nuts

We do lights on the house this weekend too. Well, DH does them :)

  • Awe- sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner Smile

We put up our tree this weekend.  We're hosting Thanksgiving dinner, and to me, it's not Thanksgiving if there isn't a tree in the background.  We ordered a brand new tree this year, it's fake and LED Fiber optic- I LOVE it!

We'll be putting up our Christmas lights and yard decore this weekend as well Smile  It's our first year in our new home, and I can't wait to see how it looks with Christmas lights!

  • Morning!  Sooooo glad tomorrow is "Friday"!  I'll probably put the tree up on Saturday or Sunday evening.  I would usually spend all day Saturday decorating (and baking cookies, drinking hot cocoa and watching White Christmas), but my brother is stopping by my house sometime that day as they drive from TX to CA, so I'll wait until he leaves.  We put light around the front of the house as well.

  • We use a fake tree also.  I will probably put it up on Friday.  DH wants a real tree, but I keep telling him it is more hassle than it is worth!  Besides, we both drive small cars so we would have no way of actually getting a tree home.  I really want to try to put up lights outside - it is our first year in our house so we have no idea what we are doing yet!  I just hope DH doesn't fall off the ladder or anything!
  • Morning ladies! Today is MY FRIDAY!!!!!!!

We are making the 10 hour drive up to CO tomorrow to see my dad! He is still recovering from his second battle with cancer and I havent spent a holiday with him in about 6++ years. So it will be extra special!

ALSO heads up to DOG OWNERS!

We are going to board our puppy, My dad has 2 huge dogs and my sister is bring her big dog, so we thought it would be safer for him to stay home this trip :( ANYWAY, I called Petsmart today, they wanted $120 for 3 nights. Which is about what I was expecting...then I called our vet who also does grooming and boarding there...They are providing the same ammenaties, PLUS a yard to play in PLUS giving him a bath before we pick him up...and its only $60 for the 3 nights!!!!

Our vet is on 41st Ave and Northern...But toally worth the drive for any of you east siders that might need to board an animal anytime in the future...a 20 minute drive to save $60 is totally worth it!

Their grooming is also less then Petsmarts and they are just an all around really nice brand new facility.

If anyone ends up going there, put us down as a refernce, I think we get points or something....Kirstin Elliot ;)

  • Do they have 24 hour care?

  • What do you mean by 24hr care? Like will someone be there overnight? I doubt it, but I doubt petsmart would have someone there overnight as well.

    here is their link http://www.palmglen.com/site/view/105406_Boarding.pml

  • Petsmart actually does have 24 hour care.  They have individuals staffed 24/7 for both boarding/day camp and vetrinary care.

  • Yeah, I wouldn't take my dog to a place that didn't have 24 hour care. I've heard a lot of horror stories, and my dog freaks out when he stays away from home. I always use doggie daycare as a last resort when we go out of town, but if I do take him somewhere I'm not comfortable with him being alone.

I found this one doggie daycare in chandler that had all the dogs just stay in one big room together, and there was no 24 hour supervision...are you kidding me???!!! What a dumb idea. I can't even believe they were in business, lol

  • Oh btw, I didn't mean for that to come off as rude! My dog is "special" so I just don't like him going anywhere that doesn't have someone staffed at all times :)

OMG my mom has been taking our family dogs there for years and years!  They used to be located somewhere different but a few years ago moved to that location.  They knew our cocker spaniel Buffett so well they made a little clay thing that had an imprint of his paw for my mom when they knew he was getting close to dying.  Lulu groomed Buffett and also does my parents shih tzu.  I don't take Macy there only because it is a pretty far drive from Cave Creek.  But the staff there are all really great!
