TPT

Lore says good morning to all of you!

Lore thinks this week should be a Thanksgiving TPT, so she'll go with that... You know the rules. Tell us:

Where are you spending Turkey Day?

Are you cooking anything?

Of this past year, what are you most thankful for?

Go!

    Go!

Thursday night Erin and M are having dinner with Erin's fam, like usual. Yay.

But all the drama that went down with M's fam has turned into: lunch at Omega, a Greek restaurant in the 'burbs that supposedly recycles their bread baskets (per someone on Yelp). Why they chose this diner Erin has no idea but she's just going to keep her mouth shut and order a salad.

So think of Erin on Thanksgiving at this place: http://omeganiles.com/ ... gag.

  • Where are you spending Turkey Day?Wednesday night we're going down to my parents so my Mom can watch the baby and we go out with friends.  We'll have some dinner with my mom, probably something like burgers though.  Thursday we're going to DH's uncle's house for the meal.  I'm super excited, I love his cousins on this side of the family!   Are you cooking anything?Good God no.  I offered out of habit and was told all I had to bring was the baby.  I crack under holiday cooking pressure.  Of this past year, what are you most thankful for?1. Having such a great first year of marriage to such a wonderful man!  Making it through the hard times and having good times too.2. Our health.3. Hunter of course is the greatest gift of the past year!

  • Kim and her DH will be celebrating their annivesary late and spending Turkey day away from family at Olgebay.  They managed to scrounge enough money to go away for one night.  Kim and Ryan decided to do this because they didn't want to try to go to three difference places in one day so they are running away.  And Kim doesn't give a sh!t that MIL thinks her and DH are being selfish for going away on a holiday.  Kim thinks sometimes you need to be selfish!

Kim thinks that probably answers the question about cooking.

Kim is most thankful for having an understanding DH who has put up with her being in grad school and a crazy first year of marriage.  Kim is also thankful for her parents who said "Go away and celebrate your marriage" in regards to her and DH's thanksgving trip.

  • Where are you spending Turkey Day?
The usual, Sheri and her DH go next door to DH's parents house.  Just the 7 of them (IL's, SIL, her FI and their niece and them), they all relax pretty much and eat.

    Are you cooking anything?
Nope, her MIL left her to cook the turkey one year and she effed it up good so now her MIL always cooks, Sheri and her DH just have to bring 2 pies, pumpkin and whatever other kind.

Of this past year, what are you most thankful for?
Sheri is thankful for her life, job, health, family and friends.

  • Wendi is going to a friend's house for Thanksgiving.  Wendi is making peppermint cheesecake, corn casserole, and a relish tray.  Wendi is thankful to have a wonderful husband, awesome kids, and that she doesn't have to spend Thanksgiving with her parents!
  • 1) Patty and DH will have an early Thanksgiving dinner with FIL and SMIL at Black Angus, then will have dessert (and maybe round 2....LOL) and her family's house Big Smile Patty is very excited because she and DH get to spend time with both families.....and she gets to eat twice!

    2) Patty barely knows how to boil water, so Patty is not cooking anything....she is leaving it to the pros.....although @ Christmas, Patty will shadow her mom and finally try to snag the recipe for her mom's yummy TAMALES!

    3) This past year has made Patty realize how lucky and blessed she really is. Patty is thankful for her DH who loves her and supports her unconditionally, for her awesome family and friends, and for getting through the first year of marriage with no (or VERY LITTLE) drama. Of course Patty is very thankful for her Novembies and the fact that she got to meet some of them IRL this year. Patty can't wait to meet the rest of you someday.

  • Karrey says good morning right back to Lore!  Karrey hopes that Lore is having a good day so far.

Where are you spending Turkey Day? Karrey is spending turkey day, turkeyless at home.  Drew will be working so Karrey will likely sleep in, and then watch some tv in her pjs.  She is really glad that she wont be driving out to the boonies to eat dried up nasty food.

Are you cooking anything?Karrey is sure she will end up cooking something to eat but it likely wont be of the thanksgiving sort.

Of this past year, what are you most thankful for? Karrey is honestly most thankful for her friendship with the Novembies.  Sounds crazy, but its true.

  • Where are you spending Turkey Day?

Lorelai is spending it with her DH's family---the whole lot-there will be 14 folks-10 staying at MIL's house for 3-4 days.  Lorelai loves DH's fam, but misses spending it with hers-she can't remember the last time at her mom's-ok, maybe 3 yrs ago?

    Are you cooking anything?

Yep-attempting this eve, Lorelai will try her hand at one of 2 apple pies-DH picked one with Bourbon in it!, green bean casserole, and breakfast stuff- Cherry/apple danish Swirl-which Lorelai knows how to make (yah!), and a breakfast quiche.  Lorelai doesn't want MIL to have to cook, so this is her contribution for breakfast. (and maybe also do gravy?!Yikes!

Of this past year, what are you most thankful for?

Lorelai's thankful for her health, DH and the kids' health, and her family's health-even her MIL-who is doing fine considering...  Also, Lorelai's happy to be loved-she knows her family loves her and she's thankful for it... Thankful she can put food on her table, work, and walk... and has a pillow for her head at night. and the support of her Novembie pals! (ok, that's more than one, but Lorelai doesn't care =))

  • Where are you spending Turkey Day?

Sierra is spending Turkey Day Lunch from 11:00 to about 3:30 or 4:00 at her mamma & daddy's. She is so excited about seeing her grandparents, her aunt, and her Great Grand mother(Great Mama).
Then Sierra & DH will be headed back to have T-Day Supper at DH's Gran's house.
Sierra and DH are going to be 2 stuffed Turkey's by the end of the day.

    Are you cooking anything?

Sierra is making her Grand Fathers favorite Chocolate Pie for T-Day Lunch, and may be bringing something else but can't decide.
To T-Day Supper, Sierra may also bring another Chocolate Pie. DH is bringing Rotel Dip.....LOL.....Sierra's DH thinks a meal is not complete without some rotel dip.

Of this past year, what are you most thankful for?

Sierra is very thankful for her DH and all the blessings that they have received in the past year.
Sierra is thankful for her job, though it may be slow she has one.
Sierra is thankful that her grandmother no longer has to take Chemo treatments. Sierra is thankful her Great Mama is doing well after she broke her hip.
Sierra is thankful DH has a job he likes where the boss man treats him like a real person.
Sierra is also SO Thankful for her Novembies!!!

Sierra is just so thankful for so many things she can't even begin to type them all.

May Sierra ask how Karrey managed to get so lucky on Turkey Day?

  • Carli is TRYING to get back in the swing of nesting because she misses you ladies dearly, so here we go with TPT!!!

Carli is spending Thanksgiving at her house with 18 people!  YIPPY! Carli is going to have a VERY busy day with all those people...well atleast her oven is LOL

Carli and Gil are cooking one of the 2 turkeys, 2 different kinds of stuffing, and Bacon wrapped dates...Carli is going shopping for everything tonight (except the turkey because she got one for work as a "holiday present")...she thinks the Publix bill is going to be QUITE high...YIKES!

The past year has been a GREAT one for Carli and her family.  Carli is most thankful for being healthy and happy!  All of the material things don't mean anything if Carli can't use them and enjoy them.  Carli is also SOOO thankful for all the happy people around her...like all of her Novembies!

YAY FOR CARLI MAKING IT THROUGH TPT WITHOUT A SLIP UP!!

  • Jenny and N are doing a Turkey Trot run Thanksgiving morning with a bunch of friends, and then Jenny and N are going over to Jenny's IL's to have dinner with them and Jenny's little sis and her DH.

Jenny is not cooking anything. She will mix up some dill dip to go with a veggie platter she is putting together, but N volunteered to make the rest of their menu contributions (dressing for outside the turkey, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie from scratch), and Jenny is going to let him! N has tomorrow off, and Jenny doesn't, so Jenny thinks that is fair.

Jenny is so thankful for all of the wonderful people in her life - her wonderful DH, family, friends, and Novembies!

  • Where are you spending Turkey Day? Cassie's parent's house! Yay! Lots of food, family, and friends. I wish DH's family was coming (though I'm pretty sure Cassie's family would scare his parents a little).

Are you cooking anything? No. Cassie will help, but she doesn't really cook that much. J and Cassie will pick up a chase of beer the day before, most likely Smuttynose, but Cassie will have to look for the Redhook beer Jweat recommended.

Of this past year, what are you most thankful for? Cassie's amily. Cassie's husband. Cassie's best friend even though she's halfway around the world. November board. Everyone's paitence for dealing with Cassie this past year, which has been very difficult for her and my husband. Kisses.

    Oh and pickles and bacon.

    EDITED TO REFLECT TPT. DUH.

  • Where are you spending Turkey Day? Lauren and DH are spending Thanksgiving with her parents and Bella

Of this past year, what are you most thankful for? Lauren is thankful for her wonderful DH, her family and friends, her job, and her health.  And, of course her Novembies.  Lauren has had a really tough time this year, particularly the past few months (there have been new, bad things practically every week lately, including this week), so Lauren is hopeful that 2010 (at the very least) will be a positive year for her and her family.

  • Hudysgirl is spending Thankgiving in her home with her H and friends. This is her second Thankgiving away from her family. This doesn't bother hudysgirl really, but she will be sad to be away from her family for Christmas.

Hudysgirl and her H are making a Thanksgiving feast for themselves and a few friends. Their feast consists of Turkey, gravey, mashed potatos, stuffing, candied sweet potatos, corn, cranberry sauce, biscuits, pumpkin pie, and mulled apple cider. They will make everything homemade other than the corn and cranberry sauce.

Hudysgirl is thankful for quite a bit. She is thankful to have such a wonderful husband and a relationship that continues to grow and get stronger every day. She is thankful for two families that love her very much and that she loves very much. She is also thankful to have a job and a wonderful home. And she is extremely thankful for the opportunity to be creating her own business with her husband. She is very fortunate and is thankful for all she has!

  • Lore thanks Karrey for the good morning message! Lore is having a good day, though very little time online...

She also realizes some seem to have forgotten the rules, so Lore thinks she will have to write them down next week Wink

Where? Lore and DH are spending Turkey day at home, most likely alone. They were going to invite their neighbors, but they have others plans.

Cooking? Lore is glad she's only cooking for DH, since it's her first T-dinner! She's making a 14 lb turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, dressing, gravy, dinner rolls and apple pie!

Thankful? Lore is most thankful for her DH, who has been wonderful and very suportive! She's also very thankful for her family's health (including Lovebug), and for her amazing Novembies!

  • Jen is spending Thanksgiving in Chicago with her DH, mom, sister, and aunts.

Jen is not cooking this year.  Usually her mom hosts dinner and Jen and her sister help cook, but this year her aunt is doing it.

Jen is most thankful for the opportunity for new beginnings.  After all the losses her family has had this year, the creation of new life is the greatest thing to be thankful for.

Jen is thankful that her husband found a good new job, that she gets unemployment payments, that her mother finally decided to get her knee replacements done, that her sister is happy, that her aunt survived kidney cancer, that her father is resting peacefully (even though she wishes he could still be here), and she is thankful for the new little life inside her belly.
