Ugh Lunch :(

I decided that I need to budget myself a little so checked my bank account for the month of November to see how much money i spend on lunch per month. I checked on the 16th of November and just for the month of November i had already spent about $190!!!!!! Its expensive because i work in the city and normally just walk to lunch (no fast food).

So I decided that on Mondays i would go to Publix (which is right by my office downtown) and would buy lunches for the week. Im on day 2 and HATE IT@!!!!@!!   It took everything in me not to walk to Napasorn!!! I WANT CURRY!!!!!

Re: Ugh Lunch :(

  • I feel your pain!  I suck at bringing my lunch to work although I know it would be healthier and cheaper to do so.  We have a cafeteria at my office, so I generally get a salad there but it's always over $5/day.  Not a lot, but it adds up.  Oddly, I make a lunch for DH to take to work most days, just can't seem to do it for myself.   Reading your post made me kinda want curry too, even though I just ate.  Haha, I blame the baby.
  • If you like Curry you should def check out Napasorn on Pine Street in Downtown, its soooo good!

I know I spend at least 13-15 per day on lunch (including tip) and I also pack DH lunch!! I just never seem to want what i bring.

  • I'm pretty good about lunch, but dinner has been killing us lately. Doorstep Delivery is available in our area now, so I can have Napasorn in my pajamas anytime I want. Too much temptation!! LOL

I need to go buy some more appealing dinner items at the grocery store. My freezer is full of boring stuff like beans and lentils right now.

  • We have Doorstop delivery too!! I use them alot for lunch at work because the charge isnt much but dinner they charge alot! I usually bike to Nap and get it to go for dinner nights.

  • Holy Crap! (sorry), but thats alot for one person for lunches. I bring my lunch every day- 98% of the time its left overs. and i love it. i might spent $5/mth on lunch for me.literally. I pack H's lunch practically every day. Sometimes he eats out on Fridays. He might spend $40/mth.  I dont work in a big city and there is nothing to eat around here anyways. So that helps I guess. but wow.

  • I spend way too much on lunch too.  I said that when I came back to work I would bring my lunch, but I just don't have enough time in the morning to get anything together.  I guess I need to just bring my food for the week and make sandwiches or whatever at work.  Eating out is just so much easier.  Sigh.
