Stuffing post.

So I missed the stuffing vs dressing post (I call it stuffing, but everyone in Iowa that I know calls it dressing) but just wanted to post about the regional speciality that makes me glad I married DH and stayed in this town (okay, so maybe there are other reasons).

Turkey and dressing sandwiches - basically shredded leftover turkey mixed in with TONS of stuffing) on a bun.  So a bread sandwich.

OMG.  So good.

I'm with her.  I have to have a different plate for everything.  Yes, I eat on plates with dividers like kids do.  I have no doubt that it's probably great but I wouldn't be able to get over mixing it together.

Me too LOL!  I hate things touching on my plate, always have, always will.  I need to have separate sections for everything.

I am totally like this.  My great grandma used to laugh at me b/c she'd take me to KFC and I'd have a different plate for my mashed potatoes so that the gravy didn't touch everything else.

    But this. is. deliciousness.

  • That sounds tasty! I used to have HUGE food touching issues, but not as much anymore. Thanksgiving is definitely the toughest holiday, because I don't want gravy on non-gravy things, and I don't want cranberries on anything else, etc. . . But for the most part, it doesn't bother me nearly as much anymore. I do still request an extra plate at breakfasts, when I'm ordering some sort of combo that comes with eggs and something with syrup, because I do NOT want syrup on my eggs, and I do NOT want egg on my pancakes (or whatever. Even though they have eggs in them).
  • Yum! I usually do the turkey sandwich separate from my filling, but I don't care when my food touches. When I was little, I would make a hole in the top of my mashed potatoes, fill it with gravy, then put little "fish" in the pond with corn & pieces of meat. LOL I was such a NERD in my own little world at the table!!

...and this is quite yummy: the Wawa Gobbler (turkey, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce on a bun mmmm)
