**Wendi and others w great gift ideas**

(Since your DD is the same or similar age...)
So, the BM has purchased everything for SD.  This girl has nothing she wants cause 'Santa' has purchased it for her! UGH!...

Any suggestions? She's getting an Amer Girl Doll, a camcorder, and some other items... She has no need for clothes, not into makeup yet..., but does like to bake/cook when at our house... was thinking something with baking/cooking theme?  She wears my cow print apron all the time...

I did see Amer Girl Doll crafts at Michael's, but wanted to see if there's something your girls like.  She reads all the time, plays vioin (sort of...-which reminds me... where's the gal who teaches music?), not really into video games, has a gazillion webkins...

Just shooting in the wind here... Thanks!

  • Cute little girly apron with her name on it, baking supplies, simple baking recipe book.
  • Well, the girls strategically placed their Christmas lists in my office.  I was surprised by most of what they put on there, to be honest. They both want a Nintendo DS and games, they asked for nail polish, clothes, ZhuZhu pets, stuffed animals, a new blanket, just some off the wall stuff.  Both of them are very into crafts, Becca journals, Carri reads (Goosebumps mostly) all the time, and they do the makeup thing. You could definately do something baking related for SD - get her an apron, a cookbook, etc. and cook with her.  Is there a Little Chefs near you?  I haven't taken the girls, but I've heard great things - it's cooking classes for kids. Good luck!

I think a mini apron for her that matches the one of yours she always borrows. Plus other baking items.

Other than that, you could get her some dvds of shows/movies she wants. Maybe a book in the series she's reading.

  • I agree with the baking theme!  And, American Girls has cookbooks (I love American Girls btw) if you wanted to go that route...might be cute if you got other gifts related to baking/cooking.

There are cookbooks for each doll:

Also, there are a lot of American Girl craft books out there.  I remember when I was younger my parents got me a Kirsten one that included materials to make wooden Christmas ornaments.  I loved it, and still have the ornament.  I just came across this one at Barnes & Noble:

They have something for each doll, or even a general American Girl one without the historical tie.

  • THAT is awesome! Thanks a lot!

I didn't know AGD had cookbooks-she'll go nuts! Hm.. Will have to look for the other things...

    Thank you so much!

  • ooh you could have a mini apron made for her AND a matching one for her american girl doll with their names on them! hit up etsy, they're probably super expensive from the american girl store (if they have them). My niece is 9 and she's really into those craft kits you can buy anywhere too. Is there a Color Me Mine near you? LOVE that place! It's so much fun, maybe the boys would like it too!
  • ETSY! OMG- THAT is some  FABULOUS thinking here!!! And for her doll, too... You gals are amazing!

We do have a Color Me Mine around here, but they're duds at times when it comes to crafts.  I think we have the boys figured out... the one-astronomy stuff -DH will figure THAT one out. The other-likes animals (it's ok to hunt deer, but not African animals-WTF?) DH thinks Cabela's has these hunting, fishing, etc games you can do on PS2.  I may just get a Monopoly game for that one.
