H knows that I've been wanting a new cell phone for ages. I think, however, that he is still holding out hope that the iPhone will open up to other carriers soon. I think his plan is to wait and see, but get me a new phone regardless by my birthday. I did mention the jewelry box as a Christmas alternative.

I am highly likely to get mine.  DH wants us to be protected, so our firearm is on our must buy list and we said we'd get it for Christmas.  There have been so many home invasions in Orlando lately (while people are home and then held hostage or shot) that we want to buy it sooner rather than later.
