My Boss
I have a really great boss with the same name as me. Its rather funny because our first names are the same & the same last initial.
Not long after I had started working she shared her past year with me.
Earlier in 2009 her oldest son who was 26 died from a heart problem they weren't aware of. They found him in his room one morning. Then 3 or 4 months later her husband had a stroke and died. When she told me all this I don't think 6 months had passed. In the past 2 weeks her youngest son who is 20 just found out he has a tumor on his heart & has to have open heart surgery. The tumor is non cancerous. Nevermind all the work issues.
She comes to work every day with a smile on her face, laughs and encourages others. Today was the first time I saw her cry. We were talking about the holidays and what a rough year its been for her. She said I never thought the holidays would be this hard.
To me she is an inspiration! I can't imagine going through all her struggles & still being happy for the most part. Every day she comes to check on me and make sure I'm doing alright. I felt a little guilty today that she is asking me how I am. What a woman she is!!!!
Re: My Boss
Oh my god! Let's all remember this tomorrow when we are saying what we have to be thankful for. All things aside I think everyone here is pretty blessed.
