If you can believe it, I'm actually going to the SS office this afternoon to get my name changed with them!
I did my license last week and hopefully that today, and I'll be done. Yeay yeah, I'm a little late on this, but I had a really hard time making myself doing it. It took me about 4 months to be okay with it. Sigh, what a way to spend my afternoon off.

hahahah, better late than never Leigha. That reminds me, I heard from an '08 bride that the DMV is usually a ghost town on black friday... Makes me wonder if the SS office would be dead then as well??
I'm not planning on being especially constructive today either Mames, especially since I am all alone in the office. The boss took off at 9:30am to start his thanksgiving weekend = uncool.

Leigha, I went to the Georgetown office and it sucked big time. I think you'll have good luck if you go to the Austin one on a day like today.
Megs, if today is awful, maybe I'll try out Friday (out of town, though).
And Steph, no way on earth I'd travel to Austin today! I wouldn't touch I-35 with a ten mile pole. Georgetown was awful the couple times I tried, but I'm hoping today might be better. If not, El Paso on Friday is worth a try!

I think all the schools are out and people are staying home from work because it was smooth sailing to work this morning. One of my easiest drives ever. I bet El Paso would be better any time of the week, though.
I'm here until about 2... then my Thanksgiving weekend is starting a little early with some pie baking and prep for tomorrow.

Come noon, all that changes. My experience is that after noon, when UT officially gets let out, I-35 is a parking lot. It usually took me about 3 hours to get from Austin to San Marcos the day before Thanksgiving.

Ok, that's very true. And is also the reason I avoid I-35 completely.
Shag in the house...or should that be 'in 'da house?' either way, I'm here.
Good thing is, my boss is out today and we have early release at 3. This means I will take lunch from 11-1 to go shopping and then leave at 2:30. I am sure today is going to be incredibly productive.
I'm at work til 5, then I'll go home until 9 or so when B and I decide to venture out to the highway to try to get to w. mass. Traffic's going to be a clusterfuuck, so I'm concerned.
Luckily, a GM in our wedding just loaned me all of his seasons of LOST, so I'm going to be doing some catch up over this little vacay haha
i'm here! but i'm the newb, so none of you really know me.
i'm at work until 2 p.m. today and then off to the track (churchill downs) for some fall racing!
