my least favorite receptionist put her 2 wks in on Saturday. I can't wait. I know, that is really kinda mean, but good riddance.
We have a pretty high turn over rate for receptionists.. Several reasons. The expectations are high, many can not meet them. The criticism is high, many can not handle it. There are no benefits (lol, the last one sucks).
This particular receptionist has been driving me crazy for the last 6 months. She's been here about 8. She has this holier than thou attitude and I cant take it much longer. Everything she does is better then anything you or I could ever do. She talks horribly abour our office manager constantly, and takes stabs at her ; infront of her, every chance she gets... granted my ofc mgr is not the best, or brightest, her and I have had alot of issues, but I know my boundaries. --this receptionist has excuses for everything, she never owns up to any mistakes she makes, something was always happening or distracting her, or it's someone elses fault- that is getting very old. Just own up to your mistakes, you will be so much more respected if you just admit your faults. agh. I could go on and on about why i'm glad she is leaving.
Is her leaving going to cause more work for me? Yes. Do I mind? No. I'm actually okay with the fact that i'm going to have to stay until 7pm some nights, and possibly work a few Saturdays.
I'm actually working on a new application for our facility. It needs updating. It needs a "skills assessment". Like check which of the following you have experience in. Yes, the applicant can lie, but we have to try something. We need someone that is qualified. It's slim pickin's around here.
