How was your Thanksgiving?
I hope everyone had a nice holiday! Mine was ok. Unfortunately, I was sick. =( I woke up yesterday morning with swollen tonsils (ouch) and had a sore throat the whole day. We were supposed to go to my SIL's for dinner, but being she's preggers and has a 3 yr old daughter, I didn't want to expose anyone to my germs, so I sent the hubby alone. I stayed in and watched some tv along with reading a majority of "Eclipse" (I'm loving it!). Today I'm feeling a little better (the glands don't feel so swollen), but I still do have a touch of a sore throay along with a runny nose. =( I'll survive I suppose. lol Anyway, enough of my whining. I hope everyone had a nice holiday and has a nice weekend!
Re: How was your Thanksgiving?
we had a really good thanksgiving - got up before the sun to catch our 8am train (that sucked) to d.c. and spent a lovely day with my bff & her parents (who i've known since i was 6). ate, drank, ate, drank, etc... just as thanksgiving should be. DH hadn't met her parents before but as people usually do, they loved him. bff's DH isn't into sports at all so i think her dad appreciated that my DH was all for watching football and talking some sports.
sorry you were sick, that blows
Mrs.De you would not believe that I was sick too. Up to now, I am still recovering. I could not eat any solid food on thanksgiving! And yesterday I did not eat or drink anything at all. I ended up running to my doc and she prescribed some meds and that is why the glands are slightly less sensitive. I can't believe that my thanksgiving passed by so sucky! I could not go out nor could I work on my projects for the house. I am just praying for me to be good as new on Monday as I just started and would not love to have to take a sick day.
I hope others enjoyed theirs!

I'm glad you had a nice Thanksgiving Joanna...at least one of us did!
I'm sorry to hear you were sick Karllen! =( I know how much it sucked. Left over turkey and sides isn't quite the same as it is when it first comes out of the oven. =/ I hope you feel better soon!
I'm so sorry you guys were sick!! I feel so bad that you had to miss out on a major eating holiday and hope you are better soon!
I'm finally checking back in with the inter-web
after a nice long weekend. DH and I had a great thanksgiving just the two of us. we made some awesome food together, but what really was amazing was the pumpkin pie flan and the turkey breast I roasted the day after thanksgiving!! omg, we ate all of it by last night it was so good. lol.
Other than lots of cooking and going to the farmer's markets, we've had a nice relaxing weekend.
Yikes, I'm sorry to you guys that were sick for the long weekend!
Hope everyone is feeling better by now!
Our holiday was nice! We took the bus down to DC on Wed afternoon and spend a couple of days with some good friends who live down there. (Both of our families are a ways a way - DH's in Chicago and mine in Seattle - and we hate flying over Thanksgiving weekend!) Had a great meal on Thursday, hung out on Friday, then took the bus back Saturday morning. (We ended up taking the DC2NY bus which wasn't bad, actually. WAY cheaper than the train and while it took longer (almost 5 hours each way), they had free wifi so it wasn't too bad!)
Yesterday we slept in, had a leisurely brunch, then bummed around Central Park and the UWS for a little while, enjoying the sunshine!

Hi Ladies!
Bonnie and Karllen, I am sorry that you were sick! I hope you are feeling better today.
I am glad the rest of you guys had a great Thanksgiving. I am still exhausted from this weekend. I feel like I have been cooking and cleaning up all weekend. But it was awesome to see my family, especially my little niece and my sister. My niece is getting so big, she is telling these hilarious stories! She is really too much.
Have a great week!
