New Years Eve - Naperville/Aurora

Hi All ~

I just moved to the Naperville/Aurora area and my DH and I are looking for a fun place to go with a few friends. We are thinking of an all inclusive bar package or restaurant package with dinner, music, and all you can drink. We are in our older 20's and we don't want to be stuck with a bunch of clubbers or young college kids. We are thinking of a wine bar, irish pub, sushi bar, or even just a normal bar to enjoy. Any recommendations in the Naperville/Aurora area? I'm going to look at:

(Not Features, I have heard to stay away from that place)

Frankies Blue Room
The Foundry
Distinctive Cork
Shinto
Bar Louie???
Suite 101??????
Quiglys Irish Pub
Two-Nine
Jimmys Grill???

All of these are question marks - ???? - because my DH and I have no clue where to go. We don't want to spend $100 a person. We did that in the city for the past 3 years. We just want a fun place to go for around $50 a person, with food, drinks and music in the Naperville/Aurora area. Any suggestions?? TIA!!!

Re: New Years Eve - Naperville/Aurora

  • I would completely avoid the downtown Naperville area if you want to avoid youngens and college kids. The Foundry will be a mix of both, but that place is so big, it may not matter that much.

You might consider doing the package that Rock Bottom (off of Diehl Road by the AMC 30) offers - I know a few people that did that, and said it was a blast! They also have a package with a near by hotel that does shuttles back and forth.

  • Let me know if you go somewhere! We're in Bloomingdale, but had the same predicament :)
  • We're heading to the Roundhouse in downtown Aurora. $10 cover and they have DJs all night. It wards off the youngin's in downtown Naperville and avoids the $150/person charges most of the hotels and banquet halls are hosting.
