We bought our first Christmas tree today!! We also bought our first ornaments, wreath, garlands, tree skirt, and on and on and on! Luckily our place is small, otherwise I would have spent a looooot more money
Oh and I just ordered the cutest custom ornament for us from etsy. It's made from clay and has two love birds on it and says "Michelle & Andrew Our First Christmas 2009"
Did anybody else decorate yet? I am loving it! We listened to Christmas music, drank coffee, and just chilled. What an awesome weekend!
Re: We got our treeeee!!!
I want to later today. Our cleaning farires are here so don't want to interrupt them too much. I did put up my kitchen garland. We are buying our tree this afternoon too! I can't wait. I love seeing the house all decorated. The first yr is always the worst w/ expenses. Come next yr and the yrs to come, you can add on a lot of the little details. To save money, buy at Marshalls and TJMaxx... they have adorable decorations.
This yr I want to get some cute Christmas pillows for the family and living rooms. MIL got me the most gorgeous tablecloth last yr... can't wait to pull it out. Oh, and we got an entry table this yr, so I can't wait to hang our stockings from there! In previous yrs, they have hung from the window sill. LOL
I too put Christmas music while trimming the tree. We'll prob grill tonight so I can prepare the house.
Warning - come Jan when all the decorations come down, the house will feel empty / stripped! LOL It happens to us every yr.

We got ours last night and now the house smells so lovely. I haven't bought an ornament to celebrate our wedding and I should have Anyway, Mike will get the lights on the tree and then we're decorating it tonight. I haven't bought any new decorations, but did have to replace the tree skirt two years ago after our Pomeranian decided it was the perfect spot to puke up on.
I don't decorate the inside of our home because it is so small and the tree dominates the entire living space we have. We do need a new wreath since the one Mike's daughter made years ago is a little beaten up now, so I think it'll be nice to make another one with her.

We got our last week and it looks beeeaauutiful! That's always my favorite part of pre-Christmas traditions. I made my first batch of egg nog and baked cinnamon rolls and DH and I went through all of our ornaments together. I also bought just a few more at Pier One and Target since we decided to add red to the color scheme this year. I just took pictures of it last night with my new camera (an early birthday gift to myself) and I'll post them later.. We finished decorating the house for Christmas last weekend, but today I just got a new table runner from Target, and I can't wait to see how that looks with my candle set!
Now I just need to start buying gifts!
He's my fairytale, a dream when I'm not sleeping.
<a href="http://s279.photobucket.com/albums/kk121/behapybride/?action=viewYep, our tree is up and 99% done. I haven't started on the decorations for the rest of the house, but I'll get there.
Eli, egg nog sounds great! I've been drinking warmed apple cider since Thanksgiving. Holiday drinks put me in the Christmas spirit.
Jackie, can't wait to see your Christmas village.
Behapy2day, try not to put too much on your plate when you first move in. I think it took us like 2 weeks just to get our kitchen in order, lol.
I'll definitely take a pic!
I don't want to take the decor down, it's definitely going to look sooo empty.
I'm all for leaving the decorations up all year!
Im so jealous, we have not been able to put up our decorations since we are finishing our bedroom make over. Right now we are sleeping in the living room until our room is done. hopefully this weekend we should be all done.
Michi.. I so want to see your lovebirds ornament!
