Dressy-Casual???

I am a bridesmaid in a wedding and I just got the invite for the engagement party. It says that the attire is "Dressy Casual."

What does this mean?

Re: Dressy-Casual???

  • hmm... maybe like a nice pair of slacks or skirt with a dressy shirt or button up shirt

    thats a tough one...

  • That means that the hosts have no idea what dressy or casual mean. Maybe business casual? Like Bistsy said, slacks or a skirt?

  • I would say business casual, only cuter. Like a lmore revealing shirt that you wouldn't wear to work. Or a cute dress if it's warm enough.
  • It's such an oxymoron, right?  It basically means no shorts, jeans, tennis shoes, etc.  Guys wear khakis and polos/button downs and women wear dress pants/skirts with a fun shirt....does that make sense?
