What a nice day! I gardened!

Woot!

It was so nice today, I was able to put down some of our rosemary and lavender bushes that we had in pots from our apartment. I cant wait to see how big they get now that they're allowed to grow free. We also took advantage of the sun to plant some bulbs and herbs.

I'm a novice at the gardening thing, but I like it! It was hard work too, and it felt good to zonk out on the couch afterwards :)

  • Fun!  My parents brought me a huuuuuuge rosemary plant (several medium sized plants in a huge planter) when they visited in August.  I love going out to cut off a sprig to use when cooking because it smells so good.  : )  I have garden envy.  I wish we had room here to do that.
  • Yeah, we've lived in matchbox apartments for so long, we just dont know what to do with ourselves and all this space! Its so much fun! And i loooove the way fresh rosemary smells.

  • I love the smell of rosemary too.  I just want to stick my nose down into the plants and sniff whenever I go out onto the deck.  However, I caught my favorite young squirrel cuddling up for a short nap in the plants, so I resist.

I was so desperate for plants and home grown herbs that I requested (and received!) an aerogarden last year for Christmas.  That's as good as I'm going to get for awhile, I'm afraid!

  • I'm super jealous! I LOVED the last house we lived in when we were in San Diego because of our backyard. I loved getting a chance to prune roses, plant flowers and veggies, and I even liked the satisfaction of weeding! (which i despised as a kid). That's awesome you have a chance to do that!!
