hey Lori, I see that you are still lurking on this board

I had been thinking about you previously, but wasn't sure if you were still around. how are you feeling in the 3rd trimester? did you guys find out the sex of the baby? how's your residency going...how long of a maternity leave are you taking? you must be excited to be in the home stretch
Re: --- Ireland05 ---
Hi, Jamie! I do still lurk around here. It's an easy board to keep up with, though most of the ladies are new since the board first started.
Big congrats on your little one! I would love to see a picture. How are you guys settling in? How much time did Brett get off after she was born?
I'm feeling great still. I have had the easiest pregnancy so far. ::Knocks on wood:: Other than getting kicked in the ribs, I have no complaints. I'm still taking overnight calls and doing fine with it. I'm in the NICU for this rotation which is pretty weird this time around. We go to all the "high risk" deliveries (all C sections, meconium, preterm, etc). It makes me a little nervous about delivering. Not at all that I think something is going to go wrong, but just that this thing has to come out sometime, and it looks painful! Haha. The baby is breech right now, so hopefully that will change, and I'm told there is plenty of time still. We didn't find out the sex, so we're stuck deciding on two names which has been a challenge. I'll have about 9 weeks off with the baby assuming he/she comes on time. If I deliver late, then it just cuts into my leave since I go back the same date no matter what. It's kind of a bummer, but it will work out fine, I'm sure. I don't have much hard stuff after I get back except a handful of overnight calls.
Thanks for checking in!
are you on facebook? i have pics up there
you can friend me if you are...otherwise there are a few pics up on my food blog (link in siggy)
we're doing good overall though as soon as i am done writing up my birth story i plan to post a bit about my post partum experience which has been quite different from what i expected. Brent did not take paternity leave b/c he was planning to fast-track and do his peds residency in 2 yrs...but then he found out a few weeks ago that he can do the regular 3 yr peds residency and then fast-track through his endo fellowship so that is what he is doing now...only it's a bit late to request paternity leave
he did get his vacation time for Nov/Dec since he told them we were having the baby...only I didn't realize that it wasn't continuous vacation time...he has ER shift work here and there throughout his "vacation."
i'm glad to hear that you are having such a good PG - esp since you are on your feet so much. i did pretty good on my feet too, up until the last 2 wks, at which point dropping down to 4 days/wk made a huge difference for me. I hope your baby decides to turn around so you don't have to do a version or get a c-section!
how much longer before you finish your residency? will you be done next spring? (or are you already doing your fellowship?)
