Happy Monday ladies!

How was everyone's holiday weekend?

Mine was good, went by too fast!

Thursday we ate over M's parents house, then that night we took our niece overnight.  She did awesome.  We put the play pen in the living room so she wouldn't be in the same room as us and play the same "game" as she did last time and she slept ALL night.  She had taken a hour nap when we went back to our house (7pm-8pm) so I thought it was going to be a long night.  We had to get up early the next morning to drop M's car off at the dealership so we went to bed at 10:30, she was still having her "second wind" and I thought she would fight us going to bed and start crying and screaming so M offered to be "the bad guy" and put her in the play pen as I went into the bedroom, no peep out of her what so ever.  So we've come to the conclusion she NEEDS to be in a room by herself (she currently shares a room with her parents, a reason she probably doesn't sleep well).
SO, the next morning we get up at 6:30am and she's entertaining herself in her play pen, awesome!  She didn't go to bed with a bottle, didn't get one all night (first time ever I think) so I says to her "J want some milk?" and she looks at me and says 'Mik" so I give her a bottle.  We all get dressed and head out the door, after dropping M's car off he suddenly realizes "Hey, she can eat "real people food" now right?"  I say yes and he says "Oohh goodie, then we can take her to IHOP or Denny's and get her some pancakes (looking at her he says), Kid, your gonna have some deliciousness today."  So we tried IHOP first, no dice (it IS black friday after all so obviously they were bombed), so we opted for Denny's, they were super busy too but we waited the 30 minute wait anyway.  Again, she did amazing, enjoyed her 1 pancake with maple syrup.  (M wanted her to eat 2, HELLO she's 1) She was also well behaved and M taught her how to scribble with a crayon, though she did bite the tip of one off as we were giving our order to the waitress.  We left there and ran a few more errands.  The rest of the day we relaxed at home.

Saturday M took SIL's FI out driving (he's on his way to getting his license finally at the age of 25) and I watch our niece once again.  That day was a nightmare, she was sooooo crabby alllll day from teething.  We finally got her to take a nap once M got home, she sat on his lap and passed out.

Yesterday was just plain boring, M played his stupid video games literally ALL day, from the time he got up, until 6pm when he FINALLY noticed I was pissy.  I watched t.v. all day, even though there was nothing on and I usually never do this.

I can't freakin' believe how fast this past weekend went by, at least I only have 3 weeks left till vacation.

Re: Happy Monday ladies!

  • Good morning!

We had a nice Thanksgiving...went to my parents' house.  It was quiet, but nice.  I enjoyed spending a few days with them, and my puppy Bella because I miss her so much.  Bella also had a lot of fun because she finds DH absolutely fascinating and just wants to be around him and hug him all the time, so she was in heaven having us over.

Friday we did a little shopping, but later in the day.  None of the stores were that crowded.

Saturday we went home.  We ended up renting a car since mine is still at the shop (**taps foot inpatiently waiting for insurance company to acknowledge my car's totaled**).  Then we went shopping and got some gifts checked off our list.

Sunday was our usual relaxing day.  All we did was go grocery shopping.

I can't believe my vacation is over already, and I'm back at work.  ::Sigh::  Like Sheri said, only a few more weeks until the next vacation.....

  • Sounds like you did awesome w the niece!

We had a great one, too! Went to MIL's Wed-Fri and hung out w his side of the family-all 14 of us.  They are big game players, so we played tons of games-I love that!  Sequence, Apples to Apples, Skip Bo, ping pong, etc...

They also wanted pics of just the cousins, so we went to a studio for that.  I'm cheap, so I just had SIL take pics of the 5 of us for our cards.  DH finds it amusing that I'm amazed how the kids now come to me for things vs. his sisters-they're like magnets-esp the girl.  Loved being able to do her hair and just chatting away.

The pie was a success! Thanks for the support, recipes, etc!

Sat-Sun-we decorated the exterior and a small portion of inside.  I realized I must be missing one box of decorations cause I HAVE to have more than what I found!

Then, Karrey mentioned Lifetime, (thanks...) so I watched Maneater? Or some cutesy drama movie thing-after DH left for hunting the bucks... hope he gets some!

Great week and weekend! Now, back to the ole grind!...

  • The weekend went by too fast!!

Wed. night:  Saw New Moon.  Awesome!

Thursday:  Went to my aunt and uncle's house for Thanksgiving dinner.  No family drama and the food was really good.

Friday:  Did some Black Friday shopping before lunch and came home to put up Christmas decorations.  Tried to go to a new Mexican restaurant for dinner only to find that it wasn't opening until Sunday, so we went to our old favorite.

Saturday:  DH and my dad went to a gun show.  I stayed home to clean, grocery shop, and do a little baking.  DH and I went to the new Buffalo Wild Wings Sat. night.  I'm not sure if it was something I ate, but I felt incredibly nauseous after eating there and we had to go straight home where I lay on the bed for the rest of the evening.

Sunday:  Brunch and then back to the gun show.  They were backlogged with background checks and DH didn't get a call that his went through until late Saturday night.  So we now own a gun.  I'm not really thrilled about it, but it makes me feel better that DH is qualified as "expert" for rifles and pistols throug the Navy and he has to requalify every year.

I'm already ready for next weekend!

  • flipflops-we purchased some right after the honeymoon-I never was a fan, but am now the 'proud' owner... We did both take classes for them and I want to take another-still not too comfy.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask!  BTW-I don't  carry-not comfy w that yet...
  • Good morning!

Wednesday I baked and hung out with the kids, nothing too exciting.

Thursday we went over to a friend's house for Thanksgiving.  There were about 30 people there, I had fun, the girls had fun, not too sure about the boys.  I had never played Spoons before, and we played for hours.  Came home, watched the Broncos win, had a good evening.

Friday I went shopping about 8, it wasn't bad at all.  Got home and got ready for the open house.  Bust.  One big phoned-in order and one in person order.  Lots of leftover apps/food - I told the family to make a plate because I wasn't cooking.  Headed back to Walmart to exchange jeans (I got them too short for DH in the morning).

Saturday was our anniversary.  I was underwhelmed with the amount of effort DH put into it.  I had bought steaks, etc and had them marinating.  He cooked them, but got into a Facebook chat with friends from high school and charred the hell out of them.  Our cake top was awesome - just as good as it had been last year.

Sunday we hung out and didn't do much.  Left to take my son home about 1 - he drove.  Had supper in Limon after dropping him off, came home.  I'm having some post-op pain, debating going to the ER, but DH wouldn't take me, so just laid on the couch.

  • Hi Ladies!

Thanksgiving was good. My weekend was relaxing and uneventful. The Jets actually won yesterday, so that made my day! DH and I resumes house hunting and saw a few houses over the weekend. We loved one, but there are things about it we aren't so sure of, so were still thinking about it.

  • Can I just say I miss my husband?!

    wed: he worked 11am-1am

thurs: thanksgiving with FIL & stepMIL, watched angels & demons, then he went to bed

fri: he worked 4am-midnight, I got some shopping in

sat: he worked 10am-11pm, I put out some decorations and made a memory board for my niece.

sun: worked 11am-11pm, i did housework and wrapped presents

today: he *only* works 8 hours. sigh.

  • Oh and I forgot one detail, Saturday M took me to a nail salon and got me a manicure and a "Deluxe Holiday Pedicure" (extra 10 minute massage and Moisturizing Mask), and yes it was just as amazing as it sounds.  But I should have known there would have reprocussions(sp?) to that because yesterday he spent ALL day playing video game and pretty much ignored me all day.

  • Wednesday after work DH and I ran away to Oglebay for a late Anniversary trip.  We stayed over night and then hung out there most of Thursday morning.  We ate out Thanksgiving "dinner" at 2 PM and then headed back towards Pittsburgh.  We stopped at the movie theater on the way and saw The Blind Side.  Excellent movie IMO.

Thursday when we got home we ran over to DH's mom's house to see his cousin and husband who were in two.  She's a stunt pilot and he's a motivation speaker so we only see them about once a year.

Friday we went to my parents to pick up our dogs and visit.  I also gave DH his birthday present early because his brother was home and they wanted to play it.  It was the new Call of Duty.  Big mistake because I lost him for the rest of the day but I was productive decorating the house.

Saturday we were lazy and hung out in the morning.  We ended up going bowling with DH's family in the afternoon then came back and were lazy all evening.

Sunday I decided it was finally time to clean the house so I cleaned most of the morning and then we watched the Steelers game.

Not ready to be back at work today but only 17 more school days until Christmas break!

  • Oh Sheri that sounds wonderful!! Too bad there was a payment...

    My weekend was great.

Thursday: I went to work in the morning then came home and helped DH with dinner. Everything was delicious and we had lots of fun. After dessert and a walk to burn off some calories, everyone left and DH and I went to bed (at like 9:30 earlier than ever haha)

Friday: Dh and I got up at 1:30 am and went out to Walmart. We camped inside (bc our Walmart doesn't close) for tvs. We wanted the 32" ones for business and my BIL wanted the 42". So we got those and a few other things then hit up Kmart for Christmas decorations and stuff. We "napped" (it passed 4 hrs so I call it sleep) when we got home. Then we spend the rest of the evening snuggling on the couch and watching tv.

Saturday: We did a little more decorating -- still more to go. We spend the rest of the day hanging out with friends.

Sunday: We sat around and played video games and watched tv. Very lazy day.

We watched the game too. I can't be upset -- our 2nd string almost beat them. We'll get them next time.

Also, I am so jealous of the bolded part. All the more reason for me to become a teacher!!! Oh how I long for more vacation time!

Yeah, I was actually suprised by the performance the Steelers put on. I thought it would be a blowout! I do enjoy the long holiday breaks that come with the teaching profession. We get 11 days off including weekends. I just wish DH had the time off too!

  • Good morning, ladies! Glad to have you back!!

DH worked the whole weekend, but I still had some fun. Thursday I pretty much cooked all day our T-day dinner -- yes, I have turkey in the freezer, we couldn't eat the whole thing in consecutive days. We had dinner, but since it was just another day for DH (only with tons more food), he came home and was ready to eat, and right after he was ready to watch tv... so we didn't do much else.

Friday I went shopping. I went to the town one hour away from here and went to Target, Walmart and Kohls, good some good deals! It was my first BF, and though I was overwhelmed at first, it wasn't too bad.

Saturday I did a whole lot of laundry and cleaning... only to have it rain that night, so mud was instantly inside with the puppies. Sigh... I vaccumed again yesterday, and will again today, just to get rid of the mud.

Sunday, a whole lot of nothing, watched TV and did yoga, which was good.

And that's that! DH won't have days off this week until the weekend, when he's going to Vegas for a Bachelor party. He gets all the fun this time around...

  • Hi ladies!! We had a fabulous holiday/anniversary weekend! The weather was absolutely gorgeous all weekend - sunny and 65-75.

Wednesday night we relaxed at home and watched a movie.

Thursday we did a 5K Turkey Trot in the morning with some friends, then went to IL's for a nice dinner with just the two of them and my sis and BIL.

Friday we went for a bike ride and did a little shopping late in the afternoon after the crowds died down, then watched some football.

Saturday we went to the gym (man, am I sore!), cleaned our apartment, put up our Christmas decorations, and then went out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We decided that we will celebrate the Saturday after Thanksgiving every year, since that is the day we got married, and it's convenient to celebrate on Saturdays! We were only supposed to get each other cards, but N had a ring made for my right ring finger that matches my wedding set (it's a simple band with the same etching as on my other 2 rings). What a sweetie!

Sunday we got pastries and coffee and went for a walk at the beach, then hit the farmers' market. That evening, we went to dinner at IL's, where we ate our wedding cake (still tasty!). IL's were super generous as well - they gave us a bunch of travel brochures for Catalina Island (just off the coast of CA - a cute tourist destination that N and I have yet to visit) and a check to cover the cost of a day trip!

All in all, a fabulous weekend. I'm so glad we only have a few more weeks 'til Christmas!
