Re: How was your weekend?

  • The holiday was good and low-key.  We took the kids to the American History and the Air and Space Museums.  A friend came over to eat with us and hang out.  Then we went to another friend's house where L played cards and I played Wii and the boys played with the other kids there. It was a blast.

Had to work Friday. We went for Mexican when I got home - gotta love that we go there so much that the owner brought us a free app and free dessert.  :D

Saturday - L left to go write and I took the boys to a new play place. We got stuck in horrible traffic on the way home and the kids both fell asleep. Miracles of miracles they both transferred to their beds and took a nap while I sat on the couch and watched tv.  We went to Annapolis and saw Santa, ate at an Irish bar and then down to the waterfront to look at the boats and play games of I Spy with the souvenir shop windows.

Sunday - L raked the leaves while I took her phone to the Verizon store (where I realized that she'd been trying to charge her phone with a Bluetooth charger. D'oh.) We went to Red Robin for lunch, Costco, and Trader Joes.  Surprisingly the kids didn't fall asleep in the car so they helped L decorate/played outside while I did things inside. We walked to the store to get more decorations.  By 5, Grayson was beyond exhausted and was being a PITA.  They were in bed and asleep by 6:45.  Big Smile L worked on bills while I bought some gifts online. Then she watched Angels and Demons and I fell asleep since I never got into the Davinci Code and could have cared less about the movies.

I was saddened to realize this is not a 4 day work week (but then happy to see that in 2 weeks, I have a 4 day work week (have to take L to the hospital for testing), in 3 weeks, I have a 3.5 day work week (Christmas), and the following week a 2 day work week (we're going to Williamsburg for a couple of days since the kids don't have school.)  I could get used to that!)

  • Good morning ladies!

My four days of nothing were busy, quiet, relaxing and glorious!

Thursday I got up early to clean the house and start cooking for Thanksgiving.  Abba916 and her husband came over around 3pm for our dinner feast.  K's deep fried turkey turned out nice (although of course being a perfectionist, she wasn't happy) and Abba made delicious side dishes.

Friday...hmmm...what did we do Friday? Oh, K went to work and my truck had a dead battery. However I did get to sleep in which was glorious!

Saturday we went to Ikea and bought our crib! Eek! It was so exciting to be buying real baby furniture :-)  We bought the crib, changing table and also an armoire.   It was a really long day but we topped it off with a deep fried hot dog and life was good :-)

Sunday we ran a bunch of errands.  We also picked out the paint color for the nursery and went shopping for new carpet. I fell alseep on the couch while K prepped lecture for today.

Now it's back to the grind and I feel my to-do list growing by the second ;-)

  • It was very nice!  Why aren't all weekends 4 days???  We had a very nice Thanksgiving with my family with lots of yummy food and chatting with family.  My belly was rubbed and spoken to by a few Smile

Friday we had a quiet day at home, and did some housework. That night we had dinner with one of my best friends and his girlfriend, who we hadn't seen in months, which was great, and then we all hung out at our place for a while.

Saturday I was a little tired from being up later than usual with our friends, but I had plans for xmas shopping with my mom - no rest for the weary!  I was so incredibly tired by the end, but I did get some things checked off my list and so did she, so it was a success.  C picked me up at the end of the day and we went home.

Yesterday C did the grocery shopping and we went in search of a xmas tree!  We ended up finding one at a farmers market stand.  While we waited for the branches to settle, we went to Target with every other person in the greater Boston area...holy cow!!  And last night we decorated.

A very nice break, and now back to work!

  • Our thanksgiving was good but very tiring.  We hosted my side of the family for dinner then went to BIL's house for dessert. since i was still fighting off a cold, i was EXHAUSTED by the end of the day.  but, everything went off without a hitch and thanksgiving dinner was yummy (if i do say so myself Stick out tongue )

Friday Andrea woke me up semi-early to hit the sales.  We got a bunch of bargains (including a new digital camera for me!) and she was thrilled, so all-in-all black friday shopping was a sucess. After shopping we helped with our final stint of cleaning and packing at Bubby's house (the closing is today!).  We also went to see the Blind Side which i loved, although i agree w/ the critics that it comes off as a little white supremisist...but, its a true story so the colors simply are what they were in real life.  And as a side note, does anyone watch Real Housewifes of NYC?  Well, the (former) Countess LuAnne was in the same theatre also seeing the Blind Side w/ her new beau.  And she's even taller and thinner in real life. biatch.

Friday night we went to the bar for a friend's 30th but scooted out early to meet up w/ Andrea's family and play cards to all hours of the night. i was soooooo tired but its always a blast to hang out w/ them.

Saturday we slept in way late (until 11 - that is unheard of!), lounged around the house, put up the tree, did some baking, then visited a friend who is home bound due to a broken foot.  In the evening we went to a surprise 30th bday party for another friend.

Sunday was a trip to ikea then a bunch of other shopping/errands. Home for a little bit to make turkey soup w/ leftover thanksgiving turkey. Then my dad came over to help andrea pick up a bed we had purchased for our current office, soon to be guest bedroom.  And finally we passed out in front of the tv.

that long weekend was not nearly long enough!

How fun! I love celebrity sightings! We kinda had one - we saw MA's attorney general, who is likely our next Senator, Martha Coakley at the restaurant we went to on Friday. I was excited. I wanted to high five her for suing the federal government (on the grounds that DOMA is unfair), but decided to leave her alone Smile

  • It was a nice long weekend.

I took off Wednesday and did some errands, and C worked from home. We left early Thurs and got to NJ around 8. I did a 5k with my dad, popped by the football game and we did Thanksgiving with my family. Chris pretty much played with my cousin's baby the whole time. They're expecting again (they'll b 19 months apart) and needless to say she's super jealous :)

Fri we did a little clothes shopping - I am so jealous of everyone who picked up DSLRs this weekend... - and went to lunch with my parents. Then we went to Blockbuster, where my mom bought Alvin, Simon and Theodore beanie babies for her "future grandkids". No kidding (!?).

Sat we spent the day in NJ, went to a show and dinner for my HS friend's bach party. it was fun though expensive. This is the friend getting married Christmas weekend too. To be honest, I should have declined the wedding, sicne it is causing me to miss christmas w/ C and her family. We decided it was too much $$ for us to fly oto StL and back for the wedding so just she is going out there. Also, dinner was the BLANDEST mexican I have ever had. The chain mex we had on Fri was way better than the pricey NYC mex. i guess b/c it was theatre district food. Disappointing.

Sun we came home and decorated and Chris did our depressing budget and I cleaned. And now i am at work.

  • Thursday we went to Carols aunts house for dinner. It was good and Annie loved it. She had stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and some turkey. She also ripped apart a dinner roll. Great fun. After I went off to work.

Friday I spent most of the day sleeping since I have been working so much and Carol was home to watch Annie durring the day.

Saturday we spent cleaning the house. Seems like a never ending battle these days.

Sunday we went shopping. Not really any great deals, just stuff we needed around the house mostly. Then I was back off to work.

Just a quiet weekend which I loved.

  • We had a really nice weekend and holiday.

Thursday was so much fun. The girls looked adorable and everyone had fun playing with them. It was such a joy to have them at the holiday table, a dream come true. All my side dishes and desserts were devoured, which made me really happy

Friday we were out of the house by 3:30am to hit some Black Friday sales. We got the girls their gifts and my mom half of hers.

The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing, playing with the girls, and eating leftovers.

  • Our extended holiday was wonderful! We flew down to S.Florida on Tuesday to spend the holiday with my family. Wednesday was all about baking pies for Thanskgiving. We made 4 and they were delicious. On Thursday, my parents hosted a house full of people, so that was fun! I couldn't keep my mouth shut and basically told my entire family that we plan to start ttc in early December. Whoops! Anyone want to take bets on how soon I will regret that decision?!?! LOL. Friday and Saturday were spent decorating my parent's house for Christmas. They play Santa and Mrs.Claus for the town they live in and let's just say they have major holiday spirit. It literally took us 2 full days to get everything decorated. It was really great to see DW and my dad working so well together to put up the outside lights. We flew home last night and spent yesterday getting our tree and decorating our own house. Glad to hear that you ladies all had enjoyable turkey days! My to-do list is miles long and I really don't feel like working today. Nice combo, huh?

  • Sounds like everyone had a great weekend.

Our holiday was nice... I loved having my family around, and dinner turned out great.

Friday the only shopping I did was food shopping (to stock my brother up for the rest of the semester), so I avoided the crazy crowds.

Saturday we set up our nursery furniture!! Its so fun to have a nursery that looks like a nursery now, makes it feel very real.

Sunday we were lazy, lazy, lazy... just watched a Monk marathon and football.

  • Not so fun here, someone hit my wife's parked car overnight on Friday and went off their merry way, no note, no nothing.  It's pretty badly damaged, and we are off to the body shop today to see how much it is going to cost to fix it.  On the upside, we had a great Thanksgiving and it was so nice to spend time with family.  I even got most of my holiday shopping done Friday afternoon and hit some great sales.
  • We had a nice weekend. Thanksgiving was fun at S's parents. It was small just us, my inlaws and my sil's family. This is good as it allowed me not to stress over germs with E too much. E was in a pretty cranky mood and ate all day. I think she was having a bit of a growth spurt.  We actually slept over and it went well.

Sat I went to bru to get some more bottles (we now need the 8 oz ones!) and some diapers.  I did very well and did not buy anything not on the list.  I also went to Target also did not overspend.  I did buy a set of bibs that I thought were super cute with monsters on it.

Sunday we just hung around the house and S went grocery shopping.  I played around with some christmas card formats.  I just need to get the pictures from our photographer.

I am trying to figure out how to do some decorating around here that will not break the bank.

  • My weekend was great!

Got of early on Wednesday and headed to the store with everyother persoon who procrasinated to shop for Thanksgiving. I spent the evening baking.

Thursday we made the rounds. We went to my grandparents then julie's moms then my mothers.

We started shopping at midnight. We headed to the outlet mall with all the other crazys. My sister was with us, and she snapped photos. First, two cars we parked head to head int he same spot, and wouldn't move. The cops had to come. Later on, there a trampling at Bath and Body Works. Thats was freaky b/c my sister and I JUST left that store. Julie, and my older younger sister stood in line at coach for 1.5 hours, to score a sweet deal on my xmas present. a 400$ for just over $115! I was jazzed, but I have to wait for xmas to get it. We then went to target. We got home just after 4a. We slept till one, and hung out the rest of the day.

Saturday we ran errands, and hung out.

Sunday DW headed back to work, and I cooked for the week.
