Please give me some ideas for a Christmas party for adults.. I know I need good music, good food and good people but what about entertainment? We aren't doing a gift swap... any ideas?

I'm usually happy at a party as long as theirs good snacks and some good spiked punch...if there's enough people they'll entertain themselves.
also...I can't think of anything that doesn't sound lame :S
i just got the game "In a Pickle" which is fun for 2-6 people. We played it at Thanksgiving.
I am not a huge game person, but we did play a funny game a few years ago on NYE called "bite the bag"
Divide into teams of 3-4people. Give each group a gift bag of similar size. Each person on the team needs to take a turn bending over to pick up the bag with their teeth with their hands behind their back, and standing on one foot. After each round, you trim from the bag, making it smaller (shorter) and closer to the ground. Remember, no using your hands, and stand on one foot so you have to bend over using your teeth to pick up the bag!
Another note- whatever games you do decide to do, PLEASE make them optional. I've been to two parties in my life where the host wanted everyone to play. And pretty much forced everyone to participate.
I was in the middle of good conversation w/ other peopel at the time, and having a good time. Didn't matter- I HAD to stop what I was doing and go play some games.
That pissed me off more than anything. And I sure as heck never went back to either persons house for a party again.

For thanksgiving we played some fun board games with the family. If you're looking for board game ideas, I would suggest Cranium, Apples to Apples, and Catch a Phrase. Some people might be reluctant to play but they are usually the ones that get into it the most by the end of the night. Good luck with the party!
Okay, I can't be the only person with a 12-year-old sense of humor who giggled at "adult games."
We played Taboo with the inlaws and another couple on Saturday. We did "boys against girls" because DH & I and MIL & FIL finish each others' sentences so well that it creates an unfair advantage.
Catchphrase is lots of fun too.
We played Charoodles at a work Christmas party once, and I got it as a gift later but keep forgetting to bring it to gatherings.
I've heard Partini is good, but I guess no matter what you have to take into account who'll be attending and how much they'd be willing to let loose or act silly.
I'm guilty as well
Well, if you want "adult" games, I say Dirty Minds is a good one!
LOL!
If you want a game that adults play and is fun for most people, Cranium is good. I like to play it with people I don't know very well, because it allows people to use a variety of skills. It makes for a decent ice breaker. I wouldn't play it with my close friends though. As PP stated, with close friends, I'd rather just entertain ourselves with good conversation.
