public colleges in Illinois

I didn't grow up here so I don't really know the colleges.  I'm trying to find a public college in Illinois that offers online/distance learning masters programs.  TIA

Re: public colleges in Illinois

  • University of Pheonix is online.
  • I know a few people that have used Keller and they all really liked it.
  • I believe NIU does some distance learning but it may not all be online.  You're best bet is to go to the websites of them and look to see if they do online/distance.  I know a lot of the private ones do.

  • I don't know about online classes but I know alot have multiple locations. University of Illinois has a chicago campus, Norther Illinois University, Illinois State University, University of ILlinois at Chicago (different from the UofI with a campus in Chicago), Western Illinois, Eastern Illinios.

    Good Luck!

  • Most of the public colleges offer some online courses. Whether you will be able to complete an entire program online depends on the school/program. I've taken a class through Western Illinois several years ago.  Like PP said, NIU offers other locations. I completed my entire masters degree at my local annex and never attended a class in Dekalb.  Personally, I would stay away from Phoenix and all other quickie/online degree programs. I've never heard anything good about them - meaning quality education and RESPECTED by employers.
