HTC Phones vs Blackberry

My husband is one sprint and my contract with t-mobile will be ending soon. I would like to get on his plan.

I was looking at the HTC phones? This is what Spirit provides:

Does any nesties have these phones? What do you think? Love them or hate them?

I use to have a blackberry two years ago and I liked it but when i found out all the secret charges that the seller did not tell me about. I dont use it enough at the time for an extra $50 a month just because its a blackberry. According to my husband if i switched over the blackberry is in the package and there is no extra charges.

So really my question is should I get a blackberry or HTC phone? And which one?

I would say right now im a light user. Mostly use it for calling and texting because thats all my current phone can do.  But if I have a phone that can use the internet I bet I would be checking my emails a lot more often, facebookings, and nesting a whole lot more.

Re: HTC Phones vs Blackberry

  • I am writing this as I run off to bed, so I won't write too much at the moment.  I just wanted to point out that the HTC Hero runs Android, while all the others run Windows Mobile.  Do some research into each of those operating systems, since those are what is going to most differentiate the phones from Blackberries.

I personally prefer Android, but your preference would end up being totally different.

  • I just got a Hero 2 weeks ago & love it. if you look back on Page 2 I did post a review of the phone. I do plan on doing anther one today.

Your DH is right there are no extra charges on the Sprint network for BB (but  you do have to have a data plan). I have never owned a BB but I have owned palms for the past 4 years. I will say it was hard to make the change over but the stuff I wanted in a phone was not in the new pre so I switched to HTC

Feel free to ask me anything more about this phone

  • i haven't used any of the htc phones, but i currently have a blackberry. when i switched from a regular phone to a blackberry, there weren't any charges just because it was a blackberry, but i did have to add a data package, which cost me an additional $30 per month (i have a pretty basic plan without the data) so i could use email and the internet.

  • I don't have a BB or an HTC phone but I am with Sprint and have a Palm.  My decision was between the Palm and a BB (no HTC at that time).  There was no additional charge to go with a BB.  You have to have a data plan which has everything included (unlimited internet usage, text, etc).  The plans at the time  were $99 for 1 phone or $129 for 2 phones on the plan wheterh it's BB or any other phone that required a data plan.
