Got a postcard in the mail about a study "kickoff" meeting being help on Tuesday July 29 from 3-7pm in Washington. Too bad I have to work I know they will have more meetings as the phases progress (still in the early talking stages). Looking at the mailed info, I'm thinking that having the new bypass go east of Washington is a good idea (making it accessible for the Eureka and Metamora folks). My biggest concern is where in the Morton/EP area is this road going to go?? It's not exactly all farmland to plaster down some asphalt and call it a day. That's alot of homes and business and schools that could potentially "be in the way." We will need the least invasive path of course.
I'm for the idea of extending Rt. 6 back to 474. To me it's odd that Rt.6 just ends. And folks have to go all the way down to the McCluggage Bridge to cross the river. Of course, I fall in the category of "not too close to my backyard."
I'm encouraging personal vehicle use ... bad bad me with $4+ gas.
