Another one for you AZ gals...
I know it's a few months away still, but we're going to be out there March 26-28. M's wrestling at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix off Van Buren & 32nd St. Can any of you recommend a good area (and hotel) to stay in near there? We're going to be driving in, so probably someplace that's not too far from the 10. Wrestlemania is that weekend, so I'm trying to find us a hotel now before everything in the area is booked up!
And when it gets closer, I would love to plan to meet up with those of you who are in the area for a GTG!

Re: Another one for you AZ gals...
How exciting!!!!!! I will be free the 27 or 28th! Im a BM on the 26th so I will be a no go for a GTG that day.
As for where to stay, I would NOT stay anywhere near the Celebrity Theater...its a tiny bit ghetto/scary over there....HOWEVER thats pretty central Phoenix wise. If you find a place to stay you can always post it on here and I will let you know if its a good/safe area to stay in... Anywhere directly off the i-10 I would stear clear of
This place is right on Mill Ave which is where all bars are and Mill ave is the main drag for college kids and lots of bars and good restaurants and shops. Its about a 5-10 minute drive to the celebrity http://www.missionpalms.com/index.php
If you are into old buildings and GHOSTS this place is cool, they have been on one of those ghost hunting shows! It is smack in the middle of down town phoenix and there is a super tasty irish pub attached to it! It would be about a 10 minute drive to the celebrity. http://hotelsancarlos.com/
This place is right next to the Biltmore. Lots of Fancy shops and amazing restaurants with in walking distnace. About a 10 minute drive http://embassysuites1.hilton.com/en_US/es/hotel/PHXCBES-Embassy-Suites-Phoenix-Biltmore-Arizona/index.do
I can get this website to work for me, Its a Courtyard Marriott right in Old Town Scottsdale which ='s TONS of shopping, TONS of bars, and TONS of restaurants all with in walking distance. ITs probably a 10-15 minute drive http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&q=phoenix+hotels&fb=1&gl=us&hq=hotels&hnear=phoenix&view=map&ei=PZIVS5WsH4_8sQPBxa36Aw&ved=0CCsQtwMwAA
I second that you do not want to stay near the Celebrity Theater! Luckily Wrestlemania will be in Glendale, so hopefully you won't have that hard of a time finding a hotel.
I second the Mission Palms since Mill is such a fun spot to be in, and if you stay there you can go out and not have to worry about driving home. My personal favorite in Old Town Scottsdale is the Hotel Valley Ho (where I got married). It is a 50 year old very retro styled hotel and my home away from home (we stay there a lot). http://www.hotelvalleyho.com/scottsdalehotels/index.html?
But like Kirstin said, if you find a place and you want to know if it's in an ok area, just ask. Luckily Phoenix is fairly small so chances are we will know exactly where it is.
Also not sure how busy you guys are that weekend, but it is still Spring Training which is a lot of fun. If you are Angles fans it looks like they have "home" games that weekend (in Tempe) and if you are Dodger fans they will be paying on the "west" side of town that weekend. Most games take place during the day and are really just an excuse to sit in the sun and drink beer.
