Dr. Lincourt (WP OB/GYN) anyone??

I know this is a very specific question and I hope someone can reassure me. I just scheduled my c-section and Dr. Lincourt will be performing it. I had an amazing surgeon do my first in ATL and I'm nervous about getting a good surgeon for this one. My main doctor is Dr. Dukes but he can't do it until the next day and that would mean I would be in the hospital over the weekend and I'd rather be home with DD then. I guess I'm wondering if I should wait a day or go for it.

Re: Dr. Lincourt (WP OB/GYN) anyone??

  • I don't go to your OB/GYN so I can't answer specifically as far as doctor choice. But I would definitely do what makes you feel the most comfortable.

Have you ever met Dr. Lincourt? I've heard good things about that ob/gyn office so I'm sure all doctors there are well qualified ... but a lot of doctors don't have good beside manner so you want to make sure he/she helps provide a good experience.

My OB/GYN office has many doctors and I've had to have numerous surgeries. They give me the choice of which doctor to do it depending on my schedule...I've always stuck it out with my main doctor just because I have a good repor with him. I guess it's a trust factor.

Good luck in your decision and many blessings with the new baby!

  • I don't know how much I can help with this, but I also go to Dr. Dukes (love him!!).  I've never had an appointment with Dr. Lincourt, but I have heard wonderful things about her from friends who go to her.  Is there any way you could have an office visit with her before your c-section so you could meet her?  This is a tough call.  I know that I like familiarity (especially in stressful situations!) and that seeing a familiar face would be very comforting to me, so I would be inclined to do it the following day with Dr. Dukes.  Good luck with your decision!!
  • Thanks Ladies. Yes, I have met with Dr. Lincourt, but I just don't have a report with her. I talked with a friend of my parents who is an OR nurse and she recommended that I wait a day and go with Dr. Dukes so I rescheduled for Oct. 1st. I was really hoping to be home by the weekend, but it will be Sunday morning at the latest so that's not too bad.
