possible relocation?

Hi, all!  I was just wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on relocating to the Orlando area.  My DH is in the middle of interviewing for a position down there, and I was just curious on thoughts of where to live, etc.  He's in sales, so somewhere somewhat centralized would be ideal.  I'm also pregnant, so possible schools, etc., would be great.  I may get lucky and not have to work, so my commute wouldn't be an issue.  If not, I'm not really worried about commuting...just a part of life.  Oh, and doctors, etc.  TIA!!!!

Re: possible relocation?

  • Lake Nona is a great place to live. It has some really nice houses that are a bargin right now because our housing market is not doing so hot. It's not centralized though - it's behind the airport - you can see planes land from a runway behind it. It's a quickly developing community so if you are looking to buy, getting in now is a good idea!

Winter Park is an older part of Orlando and more centralized - which seems to be what you are looking for - and it's a goregous community. Those are both in Orange County and our school system is really not all that great.

If you look in Seminole, you best bet would probably be Oviedo. It's located next to the University of Central Florida and their school system is a bit better.

Dr. Irucovich is my OB/GYN and I really like him. He is very patient and makes you feel very comfortable. Dr. Roveria is my dentist - he is awesome and I highly recommend him! My regular doc is Dr. Rego - he is not good so stay away from him.

     Hope that helps!

  • Where is your DH interviewing??  Orlando and it's outlying suburbs ar HUGE.  So it might help us give better advice if we know what part of town he'll be working in so we can narrow in on a more specific area.
