Out of towner needs recs/help
I'm going to be in town in a couple weeks and will be attending a military awards dinner. I'm hoping to find someone who can come to my hotel and do my hair and make-up. Does anyone have any recs? I'm staying at the Palmer House.
Also, I'm supposed to wear a cocktail dress, but isn't cold as S%$# there? What would you wear to an event like this? Please help!

No recs for who would come to your hotel, but I wear dresses year round.
Wear a long, heavy coat overtop and don't spend anytime outside! That's what cabs are for.
I would only know of bridal hair & makeup people who come to locations. Not sure if you want to pay that much for hair & makeup & for their parking downtown, but if so, let us know and we can get you the names of people who did our hair & makeups for our weddings.
If you are ok with going to a salon, there are a bunch on Michigan Ave about a mile north of where you will be. A short $10 cab ride to and from. Mario Tricoci is at 900 N Michigan. Asha Salon & Spa is at 1135 N State St.
And for what to wear, we still wear cocktail dresses in the winter here, even backless & sleeveless, but like pp said, where a warm jacket and take a cab to & from!
I was just a little worried about going to a salon and then going back out and having my hair get all messed up or something. I checked out Tricoci and it looks like a nice place and close too thanks! I need to find a long jacket to wear and we'll be riding in a limo, so hopefully it won't be too bad.
