NY Senate could vote on SSM today - UPDATE
Keep your fingers crossed ladies! The state assembly has already passed the bill twice. It's rumored that the Senate finally has the two republican votes they need to pass the bill. The Senate majority leader has previously stated he would not bring the bill up for vote unless he had the votes to pass it. So if the budget mess gets settled this morning then we may have a vote this afternoon or evening. If not it's unlikely we'll get a vote during this special session.
It won't change much in NY since the state already recognizes out of state SS marriages but it will allow us to marry here and it'll be one more state on our side.
ETA: The NY Senate leadership has just announced that they will debate/vote on SSM today.
