Hey there,

I saw your post about Cuba and am replying here just so you don't miss it.  Russ and I went to Cuba 5 years ago and loved it.  We stayed at Sandals Hicacos.  I've only stayed at one other all inclusive resort in Mexico.  Compared to the Mexican resort Sandals Hicacos was amazing.  The food was great and there were lots of activities we could participate in.  The beach was also amazing.  Keep in mind this was 5 years ago and things can change alot.

We went in March which was spring break for alot of Canadian schools so flights and venues outside of our resort were pretty packed.  However when we went Hicacos was an "all adult" resort so we couldn't tell it was busy everywhere else.

If you have any other specific questions let me know... I'll probably have to ask Russ because I have a terrible memory.

  • Awesome! Yeah, I was thinking about the spring breakers... I definitely want to go to an adults only place!

Did you go into Havana at all? I'd really like to check out the city!

  • We took a day trip into Havana from our resort.  We did some sight seeing, toured an AMAZING cemetary and some other tourist attractions, then got to spend the afternoon down town Havana.  The tour ended with us seeing the Tropicana.

We both felt that it would have been better if we could actually stay in Havana for a few days rather that do a rushed bus tour.  The city was amazing!  I think there are some deals where you can stay at a resort on the beach for part of the time and stay in the city for a few days without paying for accomodations at two hotels.
