Decorating with Cranberries?

So I think that I will decorate with cranberries this year (please see link below). But I was wondering how long they will stay looking nice, since they are fresh....won't they shrivel up?

TIA!!!

Re: Decorating with Cranberries?

  • That's cute.

They won't dry up right away, FYI.

    Hope is not a strategy.
  • In the fridge or freezer these things practically forever.

As long as they are dry, I'm sure they'll last through the new year.

  • I have made cranberry garland, and yes they do shrival up over time, but I think it still looks okay.  I guess it depends when you are going to display them.

  • I used fresh cranberries last year and I think I am going to use them again this year.  I put them in hurricanes with white candles throughout the house and they lasted a LONG time.  Probably 2-3 weeks.

  • ya the cranberries look really pretty;)

i did something similar last year but i used small box like vases filled them 1/2 with fresh cranberries added 3/4 water and then had floating white and red roses (just the buds) on top.....i had probably 4 across a 10 or so person dining room table....under each one i had holly greens....it looked quite beautiful!
