Where do you get your Xmas tree?

We're planning to get one this weekend and are not sure where to get one. Would it be better to get one at a local tree farm? The problem is we only want a small tree bc of DD and pets and most farms only sell trees 6" and up.

Re: Where do you get your Xmas tree?

  • We got ours at Cornell Farm on 147th and NW Cornell.  It's a little family-owned farm that does fruits/veggies in the summer (where we buy ours) and Xmas trees in the winter.  They also have gorgeous wreaths, centerpieces and swags.

  • We go out to Tracy's Tree Town U-Cut in Oregon City. TONS of trees, they shake them and tie them up. Mostly nobles but I think they have some doug firs too.
  • Loch Lolly tree farm in North Plains.  If memory serves, you can find trees of pretty much any and every size.  We always do U-cut--they last longer that way.

  • I don't know if you're familiar w/ the Redland area, but there are million tree farms out there. That's where I grew up and there were probably 15 farms within a mile of us.

Does anyone else go get their tree in the foothills? For the last few years it's been a big event in my family to go to the Estacada ranger station to get a $5 permit then head up the hills to find a tree. It takes a good chunk of the day, but we bring food and booze =) There's almost always snow to play in and the trees are gorgeous. We usually end up with a 5-6 ft noble (and for $5!) I was just wondering if anyone else does that too.

  • We got ours the past 2 yrs at Home Depot.  They have trees from a local farm here in Vancouver.  I love it and it seemed reasonably priced.

  • The custodian at the school where I student teach owns a Christmas tree farm and will be bringing the trees to the school for a fundraiser tomorrow. That's where I will finally be getting my tree!
